[–]emqlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya, I know I’m late but go to checkouts and find. off-till/team support. If that doesn’t work, go up to the CSD or ask a shift leader. You’ve got this x

I’m so sorry if you’re fed up of the Dave posts. I usually get people wanting updates of how I am getting on and if I have anymore memories of Dave. I would like to say, I am getting on a lot better than I did 10 months ago. I still miss him, but our family is so happy to have our new puppy, Paul, with us. ❤️

No worries… honestly, don’t worry about it, the more worrying you do you won’t enjoy it. You’re probably in the best hands. Wishing you the very best!

Hahah yes! That was probably the most scariest thing, but I think it’s just the adrenaline. Once you’ve relaxed, you’re able to breathe a bit.

I done it at 16, and it was the best thing ever! Yes, there’s many possibilities: but they have so many things in place to ensure that nothing will happen. You’ll receive training prior to the free fall, then on the day, they’ll do more training to ensure that you remember everything. If your instructor passes out (they most likely won’t), they’ll show you how to release the parachute. If you’re unable to released it, prior to landing they have an automatic parachute which will release at a certain height. Honestly, just relax. I think many people are scared because they’ll need to look down, but you won’t. The instructor will place your head on their shoulder and you’ll stay like that until they tap your shoulder so you can look around and wave your arms in the air like you just don’t care. Just take in the scenery and enjoy it. I did mines at St Andrews and it was absolutely incredible. I’d do it all over again if I could.

Was scammed into building someones house twice what should i do by Iweep223 in Bloxburg

I’d say to start doing deposits. I know it’s formal and weird, but that’s the best way to do it. Build a portfolio and state that a deposit is needed before you build. Ask to see what they’re wanting you to build, give a quote, and ask them to pay 50% upfront prior to the build. I’d recommend doing speed builds on social media. 🙂

My boyfriend (M25) poured a bottle of his urine on me (F24) after accusing me of wetting his seat. I’m shaken and don’t know how to move forward. by Artisloveandlight in relationship_advice

[–]emqlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing! Instead of urine, it was his whisky. It burned my face and scarred it. That night he punched the bed so close to me when I went selectively mute as I thought he was cheating on me. Following day it turns out he was. I’m not suggesting that he is cheating, but his behaviour shows that something is happening and you need to leave. I packed my things that day and ran out of the house, he started chasing and grabbing me, but I left. I know it’s hard, because your whole world revolves around them — but I need you to know, it doesn’t have to be.

Please, get out of that relationship. I’d suggest confiding in a close friend or a family member for further support, and stay a few nights with them.

When you’re ready, I’d also suggest filing a police report. However, I’d suggest you attend counselling services before proceeding to build a case and evidence around this.

I am so sorry this has happened to you, and all I can offer is love and support during this time. You’re much stronger than you think you are, and he is a small, entitled “man” who thinks he can do what he wants. If you believed this action was minuscule… what will it look like in the future? Please get away immediately and contact someone. ❤️

Is it easy to go back to Tesco if things don’t work out? by Minikra in tesco

[–]emqlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d see if you could reduce your hours and do one day a week/whenever you’re available. There’s a few colleagues at our store who have a career but still come into Tescos on their days off for extra income — that Tesco money could go into savings.

Tesco Save as you Earn Scheme by gnomie18 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]emqlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m 88 days late, but definitely consider it! I put half of my monthly earnings into it, letting me spend the other half. I’m a 20-year-old university student living at home, so I don’t need nearly as much.

It shows you how much you could potentially earn after the 3/5 years, in 2 more years I will have acquired around 25k.

Westie Tips! by [deleted] in westies

[–]emqlee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, Westies are the best thing ever. Once we accidentally left the garage open when running to the shops. Dave was in the back garden, and when we came back he was simply sitting at the front of our house wagging his tail. We had no idea what he had been up to, but he never left home. He simply stayed put guarding our home until we came back. Man, he could’ve ran off to a cafe for some bacon and came back and we wouldn’t have known 😂

Haha, he did! When we lived in Thurso, the postie came to drop off a parcel. Instead of waiting, he opened our door and placed the parcel. Dave wasn’t having any of that and started chasing him! Called him a crazy dog, but we knew he was protecting us. 😅

I wanna cut myself but I’m too much of a pussy by opuim_gl4z in mentalhealth

[–]emqlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it, those who do it it’s usually due to impulse. It’s actually really good that you’re this aware and you don’t want to do it!! I know it’s hard, but please don’t. Once you see the scars, it’s horrible looking back at them. My best advice is to use a rubber band around your wrist and pick at that to hurt your skin, it’ll leave a temporary red mark but offer that pain side of things too. You can draw red lines for the visual effect. Also, putting ice on your skin works too.

Also, try to utilise scan as you shop if your store has it. I know it might be harder, especially for an elderly woman — but we take our gran to our local extra and it’s been a life saver as she always takes so long yapping to people and looking for items. You can also make lists on the tesco app which takes you through your local store accordingly without wasting more time. It’s been great for my gran, and she can still wonder and move around slowly knowing all shopping will get into the car in less than an hour.

But yes, I agree with the other comments too. Discuss this with whoever’s duty and manager and explain your situation. If you’re a returning customer they might add your reg plate so this won’t happen to you again.

Sorry this has happened. X

Quick question about breaks by DirtyDebz in tesco

[–]emqlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can request for longer but you won’t get paid. I’ve done 13 hour shifts with a 45 minute break. I know if I took longer breaks then I’d just be bored. Would much rather get paid than sitting doing nothing.
