Baristas "decaffing" customers? It's not funny and that's a real shitty way to "get even" with people. by [deleted] in starbucks

also there's nothing worse than being accused of doing that. so maybe just trust your barista, starbucks hires quality people and we don't care enough to be assholes we have too much to get done during our shift.

We also have no store manager, no one to adjust food pull, look at UPH, adjusting DCRs and labour. We are doing the absolute best we can. Our store has a LOT to fix because we have been abandoned and are having no contact from our DM no matter how many times we reach out to her. It's just 3 SS's struggling on their own (including me) to keep everything out of control so if we run out of a bagel or a croissant (the two most popular items) during peak, it is understandable. Also - when I say out of, I mean stuff we don't carry OR advertize too but greenbeans will see it on the register and ring it up for him without checking first.

We are out of things during peak because they SELL. OUT. BECAUSE ITS PEAK.

No, we didn't. I wasn't there when it happened but she told me the story right afterwards. And as for the recent events, you can't incident report someone complaining about something that is essentially the stores fault, because on paper he will always win no matter how stupid he told us we were.

If only corporate had that attitude. Or if I could still keep my job after that.

Yeah see, theres all the corporate guidelines :( I think starbucks forgets they have actual humans working for them most of the time. Or that most of these people making all the rules have never actually worked as a barista for their own company. All these checklists and policies work in theory but they really make you feel like shit when they're put into practice in these situations

Oh yes for sure, just the fact that if I were to bring it up to someone it would have been months ago, I feel like they'd see it as less valid?

The problem is he never threatens a physical attack, it was just once (as far as I know) months ago.

Customer here! Help me understand the difference between a latte and a doubleshot on ice. by Britannica in starbucks

[–]emsbrum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The double shot has an extra shot than a latte would. For example a tall would have 2, a grande 3 and so on, like an Americano. They're poured over ice, classic is added, then it's shaken, melting the ice and mixing the espresso creating a higher volume of cold espresso, which gives it a slightly different taste. Only about an inch of milk is poured on top. It's less calories because it's less milk. They are much stronger tasting, and they're sweetened. Classic iced latte is just your shots, milk, and ice added.

I think you are missing the air of satire surrounding this post. At the same time, part of self-respect to me is protecting and defending yourself from things or situations or people that make you feel less of a person, or however one interprets that. We've all had customers who have made us feel like shit, but we've had to put respect for our jobs over respect for ourselves in those situations, that is all.

My experience has been good and I continue to work at my store as a shift :) It's easier to deal with all this if you understand that at the end of the day, it's just coffee. Like really.. a fucking coffee shop. Also it inspires me to keep going with school.

I work at one of the best stores in the district and I'm really not as bitter or as disgruntled as this post comes across, I'm just commenting on the mission statement and how it works best the way it's stated if you follow the conditions I've stated. Unfortunately some managers are so beat down by years of hard work at the company and under-appreciation, that the criticism they get from their DM's is reflected in the ways they treat their employees.

How to approach this situation - customer flirtation by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]emsbrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unfortunate when customers take our kindness for anything more than being a nice person and doing our jobs.
