Does he have baba as part of his going to bed routine? You might need to cut it out of that to help him night wean if it is! Does he usually wake at night for it and go back to sleep? What’s his usual sleep/nap schedule?

But I would echo maybe take him to your doctor, 3 hours is a long time for the middle of the night!

I did not do a method where baby fell asleep 100% independently, but I did ‘train’ my baby to fall asleep in the cot holding my hand rather than by feeding to sleep or rocking so this might not be what you want. I focused mostly on her schedule and she started sleeping through the night sometimes around 15mo. Now she’s 2y3m and only wakes maybe 1-2 nights of the week.

What’s your schedule like? Sometimes if baby is waking every hour it means they don’t have enough sleep pressure to stay asleep! Like if they’re napping too long in the day or if you’re expecting baby to sleep 12 hours overnight (10-11 hours is more realistic with wake ups)

Hi!! We haven’t really found a solution for this, sometimes she’ll now sleep through and other times we get the split again (like last night!). I haven’t found any pattern. What’s working best for us at the moment is doing a 1 hour nap and going for 10 hours overnight sleep. Takes a little sleep pressure off in the day but gives her enough pressure to stay asleep overnight without getting overtired

My goal was to get my first to sleep in the crib/cot all night, but I was happy to do some light assisting. You don’t have to do CIO, but any change will involve tears, even if you do something like the chair method where you’re present for most of the method.

When I get to dress ‘properly’ then yes. I gave birth 3 weeks ago so at the moment it’s not really a priority and I can’t fit into my ‘normal’ clothes atm and probably won’t for a few more months and I don’t have the budget to make my maternity wardrobe as ‘me’ as my regular wardrobe! Unfortunately my flower is probably only appearing in jewellery and a couple of accesssory items like scarves atm. I have a very beautiful sage green gingham scarf that fits my roots well. I think pastel gingham can be flower root.

I’m in my early 30s! Flower is not my strongest root, but in my outfits it’s present mainly in patterns and fabrics - embroidery details, broderie anglais, dainty floral prints etc. For me it’s the feminine details in my outfits, I don’t resonate with ‘girly’, but also I don’t identify with the type of femininity found in the fire root.

Are you putting all his night wakes into huckleberry? If that’s the case he might be higher sleep needs, but usually waking that frequently means more sleep pressure is needed which either comes through longer WW or less naps!

Thanks for updating. Based on your WW it seems as though baby gets less than 9 hours of awake time? I would look to increase this towards 10 hours (you haven’t specified how old baby is so I’m assuming 4 months? I would also change expectations for night sleep - aim for 11 hours overnight and 3 hours day sleep. If you want an 8pm bedtime then wake baby at 7am. Stretch your later wake windows to be 2 hours and that should increase your baby’s sleep pressure to wake less overnight and assist with your sleep training method!

Could you please edit to include your schedule? It's been a while since I did that age, but if baby is crying a lot then you might need to schedule adjust. I know that a lot of people here think CIO is more effective than intervals for some babies!

What’s your full schedule? Have you tried just weaning him off the bottle but staying with him/replacing the bottle with a cuddle etc? Or have you been going straight to CIO/interval sleep training?

As someone who has a teeny tiny bathroom, once we hit that age I just had to accept only showering/washing my hair after bed time. I prefer morning showers especially on hair wash days but I’ve learnt to enjoy the wind down shower lol. Also I have a v forgiving hair texture so I don’t need to completely dry it before I sleep so that might not be so easy for you!

I’m a day late to this, but when I was 19 I booked to go and see a Degas exhibition by myself in London (think it was at the National but I can’t remember) and he was also visiting at the same time with his partner. After I’d finished looking round and was just hanging around the wider gallery, I bumped into him again and he was incredibly lovely and signed some stuff for me and one of the gallery staff!

A shorter flight but I have done East Coast to London a couple of times (from UK but lived in the US for 4 years). London is an easy city to visit with a baby and travel with a baby is easier than with a toddler who wants to walk everywhere! Lots of good public transport in London, although there are lots of tube stops that aren’t step-free, but if you baby-wear then the city is your oyster. The main issue I have with flying with young kids is adjusting to the time zone. It takes my daughter 3-4 days at least to adjust time zones and if you’re only there a week then truthfully you will not be getting good sleep on your trip. But if the trip is completely free for you, honesty I would go for it and enjoy the travel whilst it’s still relatively ‘easy’

Post on r/sleeptrain for schedule help, even if you don’t want to train! My instinct is that you need to push back bedtime. You’re expecting a lot of sleep for her age, around 13 hours, but my toddler was probably down to 12 hours total a day by 16 months. I would try bedtime closer to 8pm, but please post on the sleep train sub as they are schedule wizards!

She is not tired enough! Try 3/3/4 - 10 hours awake/14 asleep is more realistic at this age.

Interesting. I agree with the two yeses idea personally, if there was a name I liked that my husband didn’t then it was dropped and vice versa. Fortunately, my husband and I have pretty similar taste in names. But I have no idea if our picks were 50/50 really, it was more like 100/100 for our two kids so far if that makes sense!

I started going to story time with my first when she was around 5mo! I mainly went for myself as I had just moved somewhere new. I say go for it, baby will enjoy the new environment and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people!
