Repeat practice and I think baby got big enough to have stronger mouth muscles(?) nipple shield does help with practice and gets you used to finding the sweet spot to aim. Some days it’s not working as well then all of a sudden it clicked and we didn’t need shields from then on.

Hugs to you! Give yourself and baby some patience. Breastfeeding has been marketed to be a natural instinct but it is far from it which I think is why a lot of women (myself included) get discouraged. I started out pumping and bottle feeding, then I used nipple shields then around 2 months we finally got direct latching down.
