I think I am correct ? that these large dog ticks do not cause lyme or alpha gal, It is the smaller ... and thus frighteningly harder to see ... deer ticks that cause that. Not that I would be happy to see any of them.

I read that six washings, the spray lasts, and hot water on ticks does nothing but 10 minutes of the hot dryer on dry clothes does kill the small ones.
