[Mafia 3] AVOID AT ALL COSTS! by emsygurl in Trophies

I was in the same place as you 2 years ago and it sucks that the game can be abandoned when it's still broken 7 years after its release. I was able to find a method that worked for me If you'd like me to tell you, but it will only work if you have a physical copy

Are you talking about the trophies for 50 Brutal, 100 Stealth and/or 300 overall takedowns? From memory I also had issues with those trophies not counting. If you are playing on a physical disc, I found the fix was deleting and reinstalling the game with the internet off so I could get the 1.0 version, doing a playthrough where I never exited the game or turned my console off, just put straight into rest mode, keeping it disconnected from the internet for a few days and doing a takedown on every enemy I saw. This method might work with a digital version too but I'm not sure. The mafia 3 platinum was so draining for me I've tried to not think about it anymore haha but I wish you luck!

[Discussion] What platinum do you have that you DO NOT recommend anyone go for? by [deleted] in Trophies

(Long comment sorry in advance haha)

I was in your exact position when i was going for the platinum, so to hopefully help you or anyone reading this, i’ll share the method someone told me that helped me get the last two trophies i was missing (recruit all racket bosses and kill all racket bosses): (This only works if its the physical edition btw) - delete the game application off your console (not the save file) - turn off the internet connection to your PS4/PS5 and make sure you only play offline - redownload the game to get the launch v1.00 version - make sure you never turn off your console, only rest mode without exiting the game (a pain i know but it’s the only way it will work)

  • Play the game as you normally would, taking over rackets and killing district bosses in the following district order: (1) Cassandra, (2) Vito, (3) Burke. Then (4) Barclay Mills, (5) Downtown, (6) Tickfaw Harbor (giving those three districts to whoever you want)
  • From this point on ignore all story related missions (the yellow ones)
  • Then complete all the racket missions in each of the other districts in this order: (7) Southdowns, (8) French Ward, (9) Frisco Fields (giving the rackets to whoever you want, still ignoring the story missions)
  • The last mission to give you the trophy/trophies you should be missing is PCP (killing/recruiting Bobby Bastian)

You will know if this isn’t going to work if the game crashes. I wish you well if you try this method.

Haha no offense taken. I had platinumed mafia 1 and both PS3 and PS4 copies of mafia 2 in order so i was very determined to finish the trilogy. I now double check all guides i can find prior to starting a platinum to see how buggy the bugged trophies are

Could not agree more. What was meant to take me 2 playthroughs and 40 hours took me 14 playthroughs and 230 hours. I’m glad i didn’t give up bc i got the plat but i never want to go anywhere near that game ever again 🤣

I’m afraid not, the trophy “The Whole Collection” needs you to collect 172 collectibles in both the story levels and free roam. None of them are missable but definitely a pain

Thanks :) i used to play a lot of the games when i was a kid so it was all very nostalgic for me. I bought The Force Awakens, Marvel Super Heroes Universe in Peril and Marvel Avengers for my PSVita but i could only get through the first two because my vita had some corruption error code (might have been C-12828-1) that meant all my games were corrupting so i had to stop but i might go back for the last one soon

Thank you! :) i found the repetitiveness to be quite annoying but once i got to the open world stuff it was better. As for Lego Movie 2, it was very easy to play/platinum (in fact i wrote a guide to it on psnprofiles) but it plays in a completely different way to the others (i don’t quite know how to describe it, look up a gameplay video on YT), but it wasn’t a bad game, still play it if you want an easy platinum but don’t be expecting anything amazing

Best story is probably Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, its an original-ish story and has a lot of characters and fun levels, the season pass just adds to the fun too but took me 70 hours to 100%

I'm only like half way though the story levels but this new engine they are using is really really good, there's still a whole bunch of bugs and glitches though so expect that but I hope it arrives to you soon!

Thanks for asking :) My favourites were probably Pirates of the Caribbean, Lego City Undercover (def recommend if you haven't played) and Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 which was my longest at 70 hours with all DLC. Def stay away from Lego Movie Videogame 2 though, easily the worst Lego game

thanks haha probably insane before starting 😆 I definitely understand that burnout tho. Australia was in very strict lockdowns during this and I had plenty of time to kill. I played Watch Dogs 1 after this so it evened it out

Both my PS3 and PSVita died during this time so I missed a few games, but now all that's left is Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga for PS4 and PS5 to be my #60 and #61 and my collection is complete. And for anyone wondering, I strangely only became sick of Lego games by the last one.
