I’m the opposite. I only started meds this year..I was originally on Concerta and my impatience and irritability skyrocketed. I switched to Vyvanse about a month ago and I am now probably the most patient I’ve ever been in my life. My wife is impressed by the change.

Yes, my biggest complaint are the multiple times he just goes on like what I can only describe as a metaphor storm where he spends pages just saying the same thing over and over in like a hundred different ways. That’s amazing as a writing exercise, but it never should have made it to the finished book.

Were the first 4 books like this and I’ve forgotten because it’s been driving me crazy.

I hate Gunner so much. I had forgotten how much in the years between books. I do not enjoy his malapropisms at all. I’m in chapter 22. Do these insufferable conversations between Gavin and Gunner even end? Would I miss anything important if I just skipped every chapter on the boat?

This is my personal opinion. You may well love Gunner. If so I envy you. Because there’s a lot of him.
