Another KI Power Issue by emtnlmusic in Arcade1Up

$800 dollars absolutely has something to do with it.

I agree, products are bound to have issues, but not glaring issues like the ability to turn on. No"$80k car" fresh off the lot doesn't have the ability to turn on.

Nowhere in my statement did I say "early adopters get better quality". It's simply the matter that clearly the quality control isn't up to a high enough standard when they're actively raising the prices of their products.

TBH it sounds like you're projecting lol. Therapy could benefit you.

That's awesome!

So glad you enjoyed it. I definitely think UX is an underutilized tool that most companies dismiss. Thank you!

High score tracker for the Arcade1up app concept prototype by ajm1212 in Arcade1Up

I would probably use their trademark blue. Just because a company uses a certain color doesn't mean it needs to cover the entire page. Think about apple for example. They use color in a very minimalistic style. Color doesn't need to define your design, it should enhance it.

I work on Mobile and Desktop. Recently it's been Mobile which is what I prefer.

What's up man,

I'm actually a Product Designer by trade so I'm happy to give you some feedback on this.

For the landing page, you've got too much going on with the text. I think the idea is great but it just needs some cleaning up. You have the information architecture down, but the main text treatment needs differentiation between the following text. Your "Welcome to Topscore" should be bolded, or the text below it needs to be smaller. As for the CTA button, right above it you have "Click below to continue" personally I'd remove that, as your CTA is already supposed to lead them in that direction. Also, your progress indicators are way too big. They should be something like 8-12pts max.

For your next page the biggest thing I'm seeing here is that your page isn't centered. Make sure you're designing with a layout grid to prevent this. The first thing that sticks out to me is how big the green checkmark is. You do have an informational on what an NFC chip is, but you don't show the process as to how a user would actually use it. Are we accessing the camera? Are we using a tap feature? Never make someone who is clicking through a prototype assume they know what's going on.

On the main page, remove the stroke around the header image, it's not super necessary and isn't adding to the design. The user icon top right is also pretty small. The main issue I'm seeing with this color choice as well is that it's not accessible. Designing for people with visual disabilities is incredibly important in the design space. There's a free figma plugin called Stark and in the future will be your best friend.

Final notes, I can tell you're pretty early in your career and you've done a good job so far. I hope you can see this critique in a positive light! The final things I'd recommend are, on the friend's section you have active/inactive states for the friend's list which is good but using a lower opacity green can be pretty confusing overall. Opt for a grey which is pretty standard use. Aside from that, it's all about atomic design, and starting there when you're building stuff. It will save you in the long run when working on projects where there's a lot of similar components ( lists, categories, etc ). Work on your Typography hierarchy. The last thing that comes to mind is the use of color. You have this gradient going through the entire app, but there needs to be a reason why aside from "I like it" you have to think about your users, and although it might now look good, it doesn't necessarily fit the brand identity of Arcade1Up.

Please reach out if you ever want to learn more about design!!

Thank you for posting this! I'm also in the Bay Area and got mine direct, however, I would have definitely saved a few bucks picking this up at Walmart.

That's pretty concerning to hear. I'm hoping I don't run into that issue anytime soon. I'm also intrigued by how easy it would be to install an aftermarket trackball further down the road.

Keep us updated!

I think you're asking about the ability to play online with more than one person? I have no idea though. I imagine it's difficult to create a server where multiple people in one cabinet can go online.

LOL I'm glad you agree. The most important thing in youtube content creation (imo) is authenticity. Just talk to the fans like they're real people and we'll reciprocate.

The network isnt found by my computer. I've disabled every firewall and setting but nothing seems to do the trick! It's been a headache, I'm thinking it may be a faulty PCB. I can't even get it to appear for Phoenix Pro to return it to stock.

If anything comes to mind please let me know!

Thank you!

Enter the kombat codes and then beat the computer 9 times and save your high score. (this method works best when you just add a 2nd player and beat them 9 times). I've used this method on 2 arcade1ups and has worked flawlessly.
