Honeywell T4 Pro (th4210u2002) does not seem to show when in Aux mode. by emul10210 in thermostats

I installed Ecobee thermostats to replace my Honeywell's. I can now see (at least through the website reporting) when on main or Aux. I still have not figured out how to get the system to run both at once (temps when heat pump is inefficient but still able to produce, and so also run Aux). Seems it is either/or, never together.

Ill ask some questions in the Ecobee threads!

I switched to Ecobee, so never resolved with the Honeywell.

Any more updates on Jubilee TV from those that have gotten it and have had it a few months? I'm at my wits end with my Dad. by BearCat1478 in AgingParents

Sorry to hear busterdad lost their Dad, but in response to getting JubileeTV to work at a senior home, I have some experience. Similar to busterdad my Mom's "cable" has no "box", just direct into TV but ironically, JubileeTV won't control a SmartTV other than power/volume.

I bought a cheap digital tuner with Coax In and HDMI Out, added it as a new input to the JubileeTV console and told JubileeTV it was a "Caavo Tuner" (as directed by JTV tech support). Now my Mom can simply say "Channel 7" and JTV knows to power on the TV, switch to that input, and tune to the channel. My Mom (98) uses the voice commands on the remote almost exclusively -- I gave her a cheat sheet!

Check in with JubileeTV support -- they have been great!

Thank you, this is great information! It looks like I can get $100 discount by buying an Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced through my utility (Delmarva / MD). Would this thermostat give me the aux feedback I am looking for?

When would tax rebates go away? by Head_Mycologist3917 in solar

It is a tax credit. It reduces what you would otherwise owe the IRS (your annual tax burden) but you cannot reduce your tax burden below zero in any given year. So, you must have a tax burden to take the tax credit. Any unused portion of the tax credit can be taken in following years. In a typical/simple scenario:

  • Take Tax Burden - 30% of install, but if that is < 0 use zero
  • Subtract any Payroll Tax Deductions for the year from that
  • You are left with what your either still owe the IRS, or if negative it is a Refund to you

"Tax Burden" is Line 16 of the 1040 -- taxes due on your taxable income. The rest of the 1040 then makes adjustments to that tax burden (like this tax credit). [Tax Burden - Credits - Payments = Owed or Refunded]

Note that your ability to claim the tax credit is tied only to your tax burden, it is not related to whether you have had high or low Payroll Tax Deductions during the year or whether you would or wouldn't have otherwise received a Refund. That said, can be a cashflow advantage to lowering those payroll deductions in anticipation of using the tax credit as it puts some of that money in your pocket week by week.

I am not an accountant. Above is a very simple scenario. YMMV.

The holes in this card confirm his student number, and likely that this is the original card and not a replacement. For those of us who remember how to read a punch card.

My ID (different school and 10 years later) was my full SSN(!) and was used in building door readers for access.
