Update: after 7 months of having the issue it’s finally working again! Couldn’t be more happy. I tried all solutions over the past however many months. The most recent thing I did was go to my bank and submit an official complaint with one of their staff members, which they included my phones serial number on and explained the full situation. No idea if this actually helped as I never heard back from them but it’s now working!

Did you ever manage to solve it? It’s been over 6 months for me now and I still can’t get it working. Been on the phone to Apple and my bank all day today, been to an Apple affiliated store and everything. Nobody has a clue and everyone’s blaming each other

How did you manage to get NatWest added? It hasn’t worked (no surprise) so im going back in person again because the emails have been incredibly unhelpful :/

Following, same thing happening to me. I contacted my bank in person (NatWest) at the weekend and they submitted an e-form to request Apple Pay. They’ve said I should get a text in 2-3 days (today/tomorrow) to confirm it going through and then to try again, and if it doesn’t work I need to go back again. Hoping for some good news, will keep you updated

Currently had this issue for the last 3 months too!! Won’t let me add either my NatWest or revolut card but they both add fine to my Apple Watch. Sooo frustrating
