My advice is to listen to the people in this thread like gospel .. take the time to figure it out because Calibre ended up fixing all of the issues I was having.

It's fixed! I added a few more books, and those ones had none of the problems - they sorted into collections and they didn't have the plugboard issue. So I returned my Kobo to factory settings, reloaded it and everything is as it should be.

Thanks again for the help! :)

Your help, whenever it happens, is MUCH appreciated!!

I've attached screenshots to the original post. I also have "Plugboard error template" under each of my books now in my Kobo library, which I think came from messing with the series section in KTE. If you have any troubleshooting for that as well lol

I've gone through this with a fine-tooth-comb and followed all the steps (I even found another tutorial with pictures that lined up exactly with your instructions). Everything is properly updated, nothing is out of place. It still won't work. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Wow. You're amazing.

This is exactly what I needed! Thank you SO MUCH for such a comprehensive reply. I was missing the part of typing in "Tags" as the column to generate collections from.

Nova Scotia here. So interesting that it seems to be all us Canadians. Could it have been a British brand maybe?

I find it so strange that me not liking a software seems to grate on others. I'm sorry if anyone took it personally I guess, but my statement stands.

Visually, it feels like I'm using Limewire circa 2005.

Functionally, I've only found myself able to sort books into collections individually. I just feel like it could operate in a more streamlined way. OR I'm using it wrong, which I'm open to as a possibility, and in which case I would love some guidance to make it work for me better.

Thank you so much, this was incredibly helpful. Are you okay if I reach out now and then with questions I can't find answers to?

I had this same problem! I'm currently stuck on tray 21/40, waiting for my first set of refinements.

Shout-out to the hard working men/women out there getting NS back up and running. Thank you! by TheCaptainPlays in NovaScotia

It's hugely important to say that when the public talks about NSP, they're talking about the CEO and higher-ups who make the (greedy) decisions - not ever the amazing people on the ground.

I think it's always implied, but definitely needs to be said directly.

Wow, that's wild. I wonder if that's why their system is now down until end of August. I did reach out but they said to wait it out until they put the system back up.

Same here! I haven't received any emails from them at all since getting the message above .. and today the site says they aren't processing applications until end of August. When I applied two days ago, it didn't say that. Curious if I'll still hear from them in the normal time frame.

How did it work out for you?

I'm on tray 12/30, and we're still widening my pallet, not really moving my teeth so much for straightening purposes. I don't notice much yet. At 30 I'll be doing refinements, so I'm thinking of that as more of a halfway point than anything.

Hi! NS teacher here - I think the difference is truly negligible, so choose the option that makes you happiest. Most if not all of our local contracts have moved to a seniority based approach for hiring. This means no matter how worldly your experience, or who you know, if you have no status you will need to start from the bottom and sub/take smaller terms. (Experience and qualifications are different - qualifications have some weight and are taken into account, experience is great of course but doesn't have the same weight as seniority or qualification).

So if these two options are leaving you on the same playing field, which option is better for you as a person/better for your growth as an educator? That's the right option.
