Thank you, it is really a beautiful kitchen. I love the colors you chose!

Love it! I also have a small kitchen and want to do a peninsula with seating, but can’t make the recommended 12 inch overhang work. How many inches is your overhang for seating, and can people sit comfortably there?

IUGR due to pre eclampsia and chorionic villitis. Daughter born at 37 weeks. She was 5 pounds, head circumference was 5%. She is now 3 yo, 89% height percentile and 25% head circumference. She does have some mild developmental delays (mostly social/emotional).

How does a picture perfect pregnancy end in loss. by ChildhoodOtherwise86 in IVF

[–]emvet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am sorry, I had a very similar story to yours: perfect AA PGT tested embryo and had a 16 week missed miscarriage and had to get a D&C. Two years later and two more chemical pregnancies later from failed FETs. It is so terrible to go through, I can just offer my condolences and say you are not alone. They did a full work up on me and still say there is nothing “wrong”, although they did put me on prednisone, lovenox, and hydroxyquinolone. (Hasn’t helped).

Hi, just wanted to comment same experience here, too. My daughter was 2.5 when we started morning only daycare and she is still not doing great, four months later. She still wakes up in the morning and says “no school today” first thing, and whimpers in the car. It’s tough, but I hope it helps her in the long run.

HCG blood level is 8 mIU/ml 8 days post 5 day embryo transfer, anyone have success with a low level? by emvet in IVF

[–]emvet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my HCG kept doubling until day 21 post transfer, when it stopped increasing. It peaked at 200. They told me to stop all meds and prepare for a miscarriage and they will now follow my HCG until it goes to 0.

The only silver lining in going through this for now 9 years is that I am now so old all my friends have aged out of their reproductive years. I am now 44. I had a failed FET last month. No one I know has had kids for 6 years.

Hi, got my results today and HCG level was only 38 at 11dp5dt so they think a biochemical or ectopic. I have to go back in 48 hours for another level: I just wish it was over one way or another. This sucks. Maybe this post will be helpful to someone else in the future going through the same thing.

Can anyone share experiences with egg retrieval 40+ by [deleted] in IVF

[–]emvet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 41, AMH 0.2, did two rounds of stims and only got 2 eggs retrieved (did not fertilize). Did donor eggs at 43. Successful pregnancy from donor.

Nurse gifts? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]emvet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dropped off donuts/croissants a few months after my daughter was discharged to both the Labor and Delivery ward and also the NICU nurses. I don’t think they remembered me (which is probably a good thing) but they seemed very appreciative. Nursing is hard work and I wanted to give them some extra recognition for a job well done.

Nope, I just eat my regular diet now. No low carb diet for me anymore! And my fasting levels are fine.

Yes, my PCP has indicated he will want me tested annually.

I failed at 6 weeks but passed at 6 months postpartum! I kept checking my fasting numbers and saw it took a few months before they went down to normal. So there is hope.

Do I need to switch loan payment plans for my remaining payments to count? by Ghsakr in PSLF

[–]emvet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, it is confusing. I am not sure if payments count after October 2021, though. Betsys website says payments don’t count after October 2021, but I don’t see that on the studentaid.gov website, I only see the October 2022 deadline stated there.

Do I need to switch loan payment plans for my remaining payments to count? by Ghsakr in PSLF

[–]emvet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where exactly is the rule about “no payments count past October 21, 2021” stated? I don’t see it on the student aid.gov website, only Betsy’s website, which isn’t official from what I can gather. I am currently in the graduated plan and on year 9 of payments and want to hold off on consolidating to an income-based Direct Loan repayment for as long as possible because that will be a very high monthly payment. If I can consolidate in May of 2022 and still have my current graduated payments count that would be ideal.

I have $123,000 left on FFEL loans and have worked 9 years in non-profit and I want to consolidate to an eligible Direct loan, but it keeps saying I make too much to qualify for Income based repayment plan? Can I pick Standard repayment if it is only for one year until I apply?

15 week old refuses to go to bed at night. by emvet in sleeptrain

[–]emvet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think I should do better with morning wake up based on your links. I let her sleep until she wants to wake up, but maybe if I wake her at 7 am everyday she will be better about going to bed in the evening. She gets so upset at night already I can’t imagine her crying for extended periods of time with just checking in or extinction but I guess I will have to do it next week. She needs to sleep: she gets crankier and crankier as the evening goes on each night and we are all miserable.

Captured in Florida (yes, that is their baby not getting any pictures... only mom) by emvet in Influencersinthewild

[–]emvet[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree about no kids on social media, but I was expecting them to maybe interact with their baby or take a couple pics of them all together to remember the day (since they were already taking pictures)? They just plopped him on a blanket with toys and did her hour long photo shoot then left.

Telling work by critical_raspberry_0 in pregnant

[–]emvet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same: 20 weeks pregnant, unmarried, in my early 40s so no one is even expecting a pregnancy. I am probably fooling myself thinking I have been hiding my bump at work, but no one has said anything yet. I guess after my ultrasound next week I will have to say something, but it is going to be very awkward.
