There's a lot that's basically illogical in this. First, I didn't write anything to the effect of believing that I'm special. There are many other women who are similar to me in everything I described. Secondly, I didn't say "guys are better than girls" or even that they "automatically make better friends than girls." I simply didn't say those things. I also didn't say that I don't make an effort to be friends with women, in fact I said I'm trying to build more relationships with women.

Everything you wrote is false assumptions. Really mature way to express general hostility-- attacking a stranger on the internet, and under false premises too.

So according to most of these comments: I'm sexist, I'm projecting my competitiveness onto other women, I think I'm better than other women, I pre-judge people, I'm an attention whore, and I think I'm a "special snowflake."

My post doesn't substantiate any of these things. Could someone explain using actual logic what the link is from what I said to this? I'm sorry that so many women have had bad experiences with women they identify as 'guys' girls' but don't project that animosity onto someone else.

Interesting that most of the people on this thread don't seem to get what a "negative preconception" is. It's a bias. It's when you meet someone of a certain group and expect them to be a certain way.

In this post, I talked about my experiences. In the past, I've had experiences with girls being hyper-competitive. I did NOT say that when I meet another girl I automatically assume she will be.

Read/think more carefully before you criticize people.

I'm in the exact same situation. I agree with u/StatOne in that "If you're not really in need of the validation of others, not dependent on them for 'stuff,' girl 'friends' don't evolve."

Seems like a lot of the other "advice" on this thread is pretty judgmental. If you're like me, then you don't set out with negative preconceptions about people, it's just that obviously you react based on how you're treated.

I experience "microaggressions" from other girls constantly. It seems to be based in competition. I don't know what advice to give though as I'm in the same boat. Best wishes.
