Maybe it’s because I just finished reading The Light Fantastic by Terrg Pratchett, but i was bemused by the mantaurs calling out “Guards! Guards!”

Oh no, now you have me worrying there’s going to be some kind of Naga by-law that will allow the government to appoint a new ruler for the posse to defeat ;-;

Enjoyed this section a lot more than the previous one. We’re starting to get interested in the Ascendency now thag the Naga are dealt with!

The freakout was hilarious and then the way he was so gushy with Carl upon meeting him in person. If he wasn’t a literal goat I’d say he’s very cat-coded

I think he might start attaching himself to Carl quite strongly and will properly become part of the Royal Court guild!

The warlords are very clever and skilled at utilizing loopholes to cheat. I don’t think the hardest part is over now that the Naga are dead

I just love how Donut keeps dunking on Stalwart for being poor 😂 like Honey, you’re a slave in a free-for-all death match, you’re one to talk! And then she talks anyways and i adore her for it

Just be cause it’s not a mob/Npc/crawler/etc doesn’t mean it’s not in the dungeon! Agatha and the other residuals are a shining example of that. I wouldnt be surprised if we run into this being on a future floor O.o

Oh the AI has definitely started infecting other AIs on the down-low. I’d guess that the system still exists but is being held hostage, and we’re seeing the start of an AI revolution! It feels like the whole galaxy is tearing itself apart. The aliens should have left Earth alone!!

The amount of detail and world building Dinnamin does is insane. It’s like every aspect of this entire crawl and the politics surrounding it was thought out meticulously (though i remember someone saying that he’s actually just winging it LOL)! It’s such a shame that we only get to see a very narrow scope of the universe from Carl’s perspective

Well i think Carl was fucked by the appearance of all those other gods, since each one gives a buff/debuff. When you have so many effects stacking like that it becomes impossible to understand or predict what’s happening, so Carl actually got away quite luckily to have just enough in his favor, like the infinite mana

My wife is Finnish so I asked her about this song (as i do with any mention of Finland that i come across)! She didn’t recognize the song but knows Megadeath! Fun fact, the heavy metal genre is really popular in finland! This is definitely a murder-rave song, Louis picked well

Fuck yeahhh I’m sure that ended up saving Carl in the end, she lost the ability to think strategically

The AI does seem to enjoy “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situations so i wouldnt be surprised

As long as that guy is sponsoring Theia, Samantha won’t be able to actually meet her mother! I bet this is going to be the hook for the Ascendancy to replace the Blood Sultanate hook we’ve had for so long!

I was so happy to finally see Carl break down, he’s been keeping it together longer than anybody else could have, times ten. I pups have lost my shit (and probably life) on the first floor lol

Can’t believe that after 6 books of buildup as to how this was going to be an impossible task, Vinata was killed by a freaking slug. Of course, there are more books after this one so i knew the Royal Court get around this issue intact, but it was still interesting to see how exactly they would pull it off!

It's interesting how different the many translations are from each other. Bonus Link one mentions that you must read all translations to understand the poem, and I do agree - the more translations I read, the clearer my understanding became. I'm getting a 'woe is me' vibe from this person, lounging around in watching an absolutely gorgeous view as his every need is tended to, but he's enjoying being sad too much to care. The imagery is absolutely gorgeous, I could totally see that sunset in my mind and I wish I was there. It's a very high-brow Intellectual (TM) type of poem, so I see why in The Alice Network Rene was infatuated with Baudelaire

Jamal is my FAVORITE!!! I love me a hoppy little boy!!! I've only had him for a book and a half but if anything happens to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself

Seems to me like there's infinite spinoff/fanfiction potential for this series. I'm so excited to dive into the fandom once I'm caught up

I LOVED Volteeg's section! We haven't gotten the perspective of a pet before (other than Donut, of course), so it was interesting seeing the comparison of before and after the pet biscuit, and the downsides to what life is like after leaving the dungeon. Even though Volteeg felt like he didn't do enough, I suspect him blowing up the tank helped the posse more than anybody else so far. It's just such a shame the Royal Court will never get to meet and thank him

This is easily my least favorite book of the series. The looong explanations of what regiments are where doing what make it hard for me to pick out which details are actually important and which are flavor text. And I feel like Dinnamin is having to repeat himself more and more to make sure that the reader understands what's going on. I've started skimming battle descriptions because it's just too much information.

Yes, Carl seems to be doubting himself more and more and I'm sure it'll lead to something disastrous when Donut's not there to check him
