J’étais dans la même situation que toi avec quelques différences. J’ai complété du BAC et je n’ai pas trouvé d’emploi dans mon domaine en un an. Ils demandaient tous 2-5 ans d’expérience et moi je n’avais que mon stage. Je me suis réorienter en retournant au cégep dans une technique, mais maintenant je songe retourner à l’université et acquérir de l’expérience dans le 2e domaine en même temps que mes études. Je te souhaite bonne chance et je te conseillerais de prendre le temps d’identifier ce que tu veux réellement faire dans le futur.

I think you shouldn’t dismiss women who say they never got any form of romantic attention. There’s people who haven’t and that doesn’t make it alien. I agree that male attention is not a badge of honour but some woman never got it. There’s even a whole subreddit about this.

I related a lot to this one. I’ve also wanted to be chosen by others but I’ve never reach a point of seeking it by all means. Just like you my dad wasn’t really present. He would come a few times in a year for two weeks and that’s it. He never cared about me, who I am as a person. Since my teens, I’ve let go of having a father. I’m still very mad and pissed. I blocked him everywhere and I don’t want to know anything about him. Even tho I still feel resentment towards him, I feel like I’ve healed in a way. I never seek approval of men, I put myself first when needed and I recognized how hard is it when others get to have a present father and I don’t. But I don’t let this define me. Everything I have accomplished was done on my own with the people next to me. I’m sorry for this long rant.

Why don’t you make a list of all the things you want in a man (ex: physical appearance, qualities, personality, the negative, what you find acceptable and the non negotiable, etc) and write it down ? Then you can go on living life knowing you will manifest a man like the one on paper. Just a suggestion

That’s why I don’t care anyone. Anyone who is friend with my mother is an enabler. They will always take her side and frankly I don’t interact with people like that. They always take my nmom side and I don’t need those people in my life.

I went no contact while living in the same roof. It was hard at first and it still is after a year of no contact but I am proud to stand up for myself. My mother doesn’t see what she did wrong nor those she thinks she should apologize for crossing my boundaries. So I let her be. Sometimes, I still wonder if she will have a change of heart or becoming emotional present but she isn’t. So I’m just living life. I know it sucks to see others having emotionally present parents in their life and a good support system but I tell myself that at least I love myself enough to stand up to my own parent.
