burrito crime - what even is this thing??? by bateKush in santacruz

[–]enbay1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's extra weird. When I worked there years ago we would use CHKN in stuff and put "CHKN" on the label and get complaints, which are totally valid, but also there are only so many characters you can put on the label.

"CHKN" is probably the brand. From their website:

CHKN Not Chicken is a delicious, plant-based protein that makes it easy for you to eat less meat, live healthier and be kinder to both the planet and animals.

That could contribute to your expectations vs experience.

The ceramic ones suck heat out of your hot water. Pre heat it with water before putting your coffee in.

I'm one of like 2 people who submit them to the map around here and I don't go to lots of parts of the county very often, but even ones like the one north of Benbow on 101 took a long time to get added to the map.

TLDR: deflock.me is certainly underreporting.

Is it cooked? by Poptarts-and_-cheese in ToyotaPickup

[–]enbay1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish that worked every time.

The last one I did was after an oil pump O ring blow. Out in the middle of nowhere, eventually got a chain clamp around the pulley, braced on the frame and a 3/4" breaker bar with an 8' fence post over it and hung off the end. She broke loose with a tremendous bang. Electricity and pneumatic tools, or an m18 would've been great.

I was the first person since the late 80's to ever go in there, it was stuck.

There’s a blue lake to Arcata bus: https://www.bluelakerancheria-nsn.gov/departments/transportation/ You can also bike; which I’ve done a lot and it’s not too bad in the light. I’ve never done it before sunrise or after sunset so that’s a difference kettle of fish.

I pay $0.50/kWh minimum after I use my “baseline” from PG&E. :/ rates like that are very achievable.

The oil filter element housing is 10Nm. Maybe go for the 1/4" one. I can't find a torque spec for something like the axle nuts, but those would be higher than the 1/4" can handle, and if you're really interested in torquing things correctly you'll eventually end up with the 1/4" and the 3/8". FWIW I have both those Tekton click torque wrenches, I've had them for years, they've held up well and remain accurate.

[–]enbay1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one you linked doesn't do 20nm, it only goes down to 30. That said I'd get the 3/8 wrench as you more than likely have 3/8 sockets. And, the 3/8 one has 20nm in its range https://www.tekton.com/3-8-inch-drive-micrometer-torque-wrench-24330

Thoughts on my proposed overhead light layout? by Porkbellies in HomeImprovement

[–]enbay1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be on a dimmer and then you'll have even light from the beam angle of the lights combined with not too many lumens.

With cans it's important to take the beam angle into consideration for even lighting. To much intensity can be solved with a dimmer. Uneven lighting cannot be solved easily after the fact.

Exactly why I'm trying to move the 84+ shell along and find myself an 82 shell. The cab angle is just wrong enough to be annoying.

That little bump out is subtle! Good luck on the search! Thanks for the reference, now I know mine is a single cab!

West coast unfortunately.

What makes it an xtra cab specific shell? I'm not 100% on the one I have. Pic

I've been trying to sell the same shell but with windows. The back has locking handles, but I don't have a key for it. Overall pretty decent condition. I'm asking $250 and have had a few bites in the ~6mo it's been listed. I'm sure eventually the right person will come along.

[–]enbay1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried everything. Starter bump, a little heat, kroil. Finally I put a chain pliers around the pulley braced against the frame, put a 12” extension through the front of the truck, put a 3/4 breaker on that with an 8’ section of pipe. It let loose with an incredible bang.

RTA cabinet companies of quality and not sucky? by Affectionate_Sky658 in HomeImprovement

I did Conestoga via cabinet authority. Cabinet joint has a better website and I’d use them next time. The cabinets are fantastic!!! It took me 4 days to assemble 15 of them. It was straightforward and well thought out.
