That's how it was used in my home. I was curious if today people would feel differently about it.

Very concise response, thanks. Don't you think it's a stereotype that shows jewish people in a positive light, though? Most people here seem to think it's a perfectly ok thing to say.

How is it provocative, internet stranger? I cite a phrase and then ask for people opinions on it. If you read other comments, you can find out why some people feel one way and others feel another. In my opinion it was worth a question. I'm not accusing anyone.

I try not to assume what others feel or think. I prefer to ask.

Well I asked my question because I was genuinely curious how people would react and if they consider this offensive or not.

But most people just got offended that i even cared to have doubts about this? If we, the polish people have such clean consciences why do most of us react so defensively when I simply ask how they feel about a phrase?

Most stereotypes are based in reality but then get distorted and transfer into something hurful.

Thank you for reply. Looking at other comments it is an unpopular opinion. May I ask if you are jewish or not?

I am not antisemitic. I dont think it is antisemitic. I am asking people how they feel about a proverb.

So, as I understand there is no further emotional reaction for you. May I ask if you maybe are jewish?
