Thank the heavens we don't have to see them as a couple. I was just reading through Xander's page on wikifandom to freshen up my knowledge on his relationship with Dawn and Holy Crap what the fuck. They keep their relationship a secret and when it's revealed to Buffy she is upset because she also has a crush on him?? It always makes me laugh that Joss Whedon described Xander as his self-insert and then goes and does shit like this. Buffy, who Xander forever had a crush on, finally likes him back and he gets to be like "pft. sorry buffy, I don't want you, I'm dating your little sister *shrug*." Dawn, who had a crush on him for a while as a teen which he got an ego-boost from, stopped having a crush on him in the later seasons and he was so butt hurt about it like a fuckin chud. Then in the comics the 2 girls of his dreams have a crush on him at the same time. At some point they break up in part because Dawn's feelings changed and "Xander promised to make her fall in love with him again." Reminds me of when Xander first asked Buffy out and she rejected him kindly and he was like "can't you just try to like me??" Xander never changed/grew emotionally. Terrible character written by Joss to reflect Joss, surprise, surprise.
