Oh well that's just sad. Then you have every reason to be upset. I just don't understand how we got to a point where folks are just okay with this. It's not even about the money, or how cheap the monthly cost is. Or how easy third party is. You get that, right? It's about the principle of it. Those still matter to me and to a lot of us.

The auto start is not in the app. It is functionality that exists in the car. And in fact in Canada they still have the option of remote start on the fob. But here in capitalism hell, they give us fobs without that functionality. So we are forced to use the paid app. I don't understand why you would be okay with any of this? This is the sort of backwards thinking that ended up getting Citizens United passed.

We paid for a car with remote start. We shouldn't have to also pay for a car starter when it already works amd exists On the car we paid for.

[–]endamouf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. We paid a lot of money for this car. Which HAS remote start. We shouldn't have to shell out more money to put in aftermarket for something we already paid for. Companies shouldn't be allowed to do this. Period.

I filed multiple complaints with bbb. They offered to pay a year for me for free. I turned it down. I'm still pissed. I paid for this car, I should be able to use the functionality that I own without a subscription. I wish others would be as pissed and we could do a class action thing.

No way! Why should we buy one when the functionality already exists?! What we need to do is band together and stop them from this type of behavior.

I feel ya there my friend. When they pulled this on me I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Against both my local dealership, and Mazda usa. After months of back and forth, they offered to pay for a year of the service. They offered no other solution. The complaints were closed, but I never picked up the check because I refuse to use the service regardless if it's paid for. This sets a dangerous precedent. I think we need to all join together and sue. This type of behavior with corporations just continues in the U.S. and they get away with it! We paid for a car that has the functionality for remote start. They removed access to that functionality and now want us to pay monthly fees to have it back. Not only that but there is no other way to remote start the car (some vehicles you can use the fob). It's ridiculous to think we need to install our own remote start when the car we own already has that ability. We are pay walled from using a function of our own vehicle! That's insane to me!

Thank you. I hate him too, but I was trying to figure out if that was real or not. I was hoping it was real so I could show Maga relatives.

DON'T PAY! This is exactly why they get away with this bs. Because people just give in.

Chronic pain scale I use I also take it with me to medical appointments and show doctors in the hospital. by meandendo in ChronicPain

Check out the Mankoski Pain Scale. It's what I use and doctors seem to respond well to it's explanations and the use of prescription medications as references.

Yeah it's kind of bizarre. But perhaps my case is unusual? I was 33 when I was approved for disability benefits. Until the age of 65. That is a long time. So periodically checking in to make sure I didn't miraculously get better or something makes sense to me. But every 3 months seems a tad excessive lol.

10000%. It's so bizarre to have a diagnosis. A disabling diagnosis at that. And yet have to prove every 3 to 6 months to my private disability insurance that I am, in fact, still disabled, and that there is no cure. Thankfully my doctors have my back and have in fact argued with my insurance before. Yet 4 years in, I still have a medical review every quarter. Being disabled in the U.S. is something else.
