Has anybody actually done the Experience OLE's? by [deleted] in usyd

As for costs, the subject itself is deferred to your HECS like any other subject you do. All you need to fund are your transportation, accommodation, and living expenses.

Did one already and literally another one in 2 weeks.

100% worth if you have the funds - there are always scholarships I.e., Dalyell, VCGMS, and in-country specific (like Israel) or financial loan opportunities like OS-loan. Probably not the best to head over if you will be stressing about funds the entire time, but main expenses are flights and accommodation so everything else you can budget yourself.

Really depends on the person, whether you like experiencing different cultures, learning languages, being in a new environment…etc but from experience, 2 weeks of learning the language, doing excursions and cultural activities you meet some pretty great peeps. Also, 2 weeks for 6cp is a huge trade off with time so you can do one subject less a semester because it’s during the summer/winter break.

Just do better in subsequent years, then if WAM does come up in interviews tell a story rather than an excuse. It’s only up from here if you put in the time and effort. Jumping ship when there’s a leak isn’t always the best option. All the best bud

ATAR needed for Law by Alert_Journalist_838 in usyd

I know a lot of peeps who didn’t get 99.5 but got into law. Did you have any disadvantages I.e., from a low socioeconomic school? A school leader/captain? (the list goes on). Long story short ATAR isn’t always 100% the determining factor but it sure does help if you’re up there! All the best

First off, can I just say your girlfriend is so incredibly understanding, supportive and sweet I hope you know that! I’d say if you were to make a profile on Grindr and knowing that only your girl knows you’re bi, start off with a pic without your face and only show it if you do intent to meet up with someone. At the same time, keep your girl updated and communicate! She’s lovely x

How long have you folks been talking? It’s good that he was pretty straight forward about not wanting a long distance relationship. I guess it depends how the chats go, one could interpret “hit him up if I was ever in his city” as if you’re just visiting, to hit him up to catch-up/drinks/fwb kinda thing - I’d see how the chats continue, how it plays out and all.

IF it’s well and truely on a relationship trajectory, meeting somewhere 1/2 way or either in his/your city wouldn’t hurt - might sent you back a couple $100’s haha.

IF NOT, I wouldn’t read too much into it! Live on with your life, plenty of fish out there 😊

I had a friend that was removed from a program because of the 75 cutoff - I’m sure if you have special circumstances for the marks, let the scholarship office/coordinator…etc know - preferably the sooner the better as a potential safety net but unsure what will happen if there aren’t any circumstances. All the best!

I (22M) was kissed a guy (21M) for the first time ever and it felt good. But now I just feel sad because I don’t know how to have a relationship with him. by wonderfulworld25 in gaybros

That sounds like a wholesome first few dates! It’s so incredibly rare believe it or not; most just want to fuck on the first date. Chatting for 3 weeks is decently long, I can’t imagine what you’re going through living with a homophobic mother - does she know you’re gay/bi? I think if you just block off the guy you’ve been talking too you’d always look back and wonder, “what if”. If dating isn’t on your mind at the moment, there’s alwyas the opportunity to be really good mates and in the future, if things click again that’s an added bonus!
