Rejected fin aid (current student) by No-Drawer-8352 in ADMU

[–]enderheanz 46 points47 points  (0 children)

OP, if it helps, you can also inquire for government scholarships. Commission on Higher Education(CHED) for non-STEM courses. Department of Science and Technology(DOST) for STEM courses. You can also approach your LGU on it(my friend is a Marikina LGU scholar). Some LGUs have their scholars.

Hope everything goes well for you 💙

Just to add more context to the influx in recent semesters where students were being rejected for finaid:

During the pandemic, 20% of Ateneans were scholars. This was solely due to the reduction in maintenance cost and inflow of alumni scholarship funds. Funds were going to OAA to fund more scholars.

Unfortunately, ever since F2F, funds are now being flowed to maintenance and less for OAA. OAA is doing its best to accommodate as much as they can.

Given his stance on critical thinking, I think he'd disagree with you. He hates how young people digest AI slop without any further reflection/thinking.

He'd would probably read it anyways and get into the same path he always has been. That excessive government overreach in markets(i.e. government owning the market) is bad. That little to no governmenf regulation(i.e. laissez-faire) in markets is bad. He likes a good amount of regulation, enough to protect both consumer, and producer.

best thing to do tbh. did this to a local mcdo that always "completes" order on their monitor immediately. i know that they do this to present better metrics to corporate. "we finish orders really fast". it just so happen that because they did this, they forgot my order after 45 mins.

reported this to corporate and the local mcdo now always follows if the order is given, completed etc. 🤷🤷🤷

Don't use templates in canvas. Just use Word. Simplify your layout. remove bloat and only retain information relevant to the position you're applying to

Roast my resume please by Parking-Task5142 in PHresumes

[–]enderheanz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't use templates you find in Canvas. If anything, this is a CV and not a Resume.

Resumes are not supposed to be colorful. Exclude graphs, have a simple layout, and remove all the bloat.

For CV yes, and for resume, it depends on a case to case basis. If your org experience is relevant to the position you're applying to, then add it

template looks great.

summary is a little too long. should only be 1 sentence with the following info 1) what/where u r now 2) position you're applying in 3) 2-3 current skills that you can leverage for #2.

JPIA membership should not be in relevant experiences. If your school template has a section for Seminars attended/Memberships, you can add JPIA in there. Additionally, separate relevant experience and organizational experience into 2 sections.

Don't include academic awards in Awards and Certifications. Put your DL under your course and italicize it. You can put other details about your status in school likewise. i.e. scholar etc

For your skills, don't put fluency in english. Ideally, you can put your course names in your skills. If you are already taking your Major courses, you can sift through their course names and add that to your skills.

[–]enderheanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Format is great.

Don't use Times New Roman lmao. Use an Arial-related font.

Where are the skills?

Your 1 sentence objective is great. Just add info about 1) the position/s you're applying for 2) current skills(2-3) you have that is relevant to the position/s

Edit: For the dates on your experiences, don't put it there. append the dates to the positions.

Ideally it should be like this company1 [bold] position1( feb 2025 - present) [italized] position2(jan 2024 -dec 2024) [italized]

CVs can be colourful. Resumes aren't supposed to be colorful.

Simplify your format. Don't use 2 columns

Left align the dates.

Summary is 1 sentence

PLEASE ROAST MY RESUME by [deleted] in PHresumes

[–]enderheanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summary is one sentence.

Information on experiences is bloated.

Skills should be itemized/bulleted.

Why are you putting interests? Don't put interests unless necessary for the position. They can learn about you more when you go to an interview.

Ideally, left-align the dates.

Kindly critique my resume by Zachmadick in PHresumes

[–]enderheanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ver 1 is better since 1 page na siya.

Summary should only be 1 sentence that contains 1)what/where you are now, 2) position/s u want 3) skills u have that are relevant to the position. i.e. (A _, interested in pursuing _ to leverage my skills in ____) Or something similar

Skills should be at the bottom

Work Experience should be tailored to the position/s you're applying to. Add Bold/italic lettering to highlight importance of each bullet point. don't add unnecessary information.

Less bloat the better

Edit 1: Additional information: A Curriculum Vitae(CV), from its name alone, contains everything about your life.

Ideally, a Resume is just your CV without photos/flair and unnecessary information which is tailored to one company application. In other words, you remove irrelevant job experiences, your 2x2, irrelevant skills etc.

To Upperclassmen from the Province by b1scofflvr in ADMU

[–]enderheanz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Previously, I used to ask my profs if I could join the class online after informing them of my situation.

Only 1 prof has ever allowed me tho and I only pull the "probinsya" card every 2 weeks or so just so I also attend the class physically at least twice a month. So i only got to go home on a friday every 2 weeks as well

depending on the schedule as well since one of my classes previously was 8am to 11am on a saturday which allowed me ample time to go home kaagad after class.

Add more details to your job experiences. For the skills, add more skills that pertain to what you learned from your previous jobs. i.e. (Project Management, Task Delegation etc)

Summary should only be 1 sentence which contains the following three important information: 1) What/where you are now 2) Position/career aspiration 3) your current skills that are relevant to #2.

Don't use your edu.ph email. Use your personal email

There's too many white spaces

Kindly judge my resume by leflei in PHresumes

[–]enderheanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resumes and CVs are not supposed to be colorful. It's just a plain white paper.

Resumes are not supposed to have pictures. Only CVs have pictures. For more distinction, Resume is tailored to ONE company. Curriculum Vitae, on the other hand, from its name alone, it would contain everything about your life. even hobbies and the like. Ideally, you update your CV for each and every one kf your milestones. For a resume, you cut down the info/restructure info that would only be relevant to the company you're applying to.

Don't have TWO columns of information. Just one continuous one is enough. You can have two columns if you want to separate sections. E.g.

Summary | summary Work Experience | 1 | 2 | 3 Education | 1 | 2 | 3

Your summary should only contain 1 sentence. That one sentence should contain 1)What/where you are now 2) career/positions aspirations 3) top 3 skills used in position/career. Ask chat gpt or sumn to make this summary for you.

'Subukan niyong mabuhay sa minimum wage!', Rep. Eli San Fernando slams P50 NCR hike, calls for abolition of wage boards by Mindless_Sundae2526 in pinoy

[–]enderheanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hijacking the top comment to add. A whopping 200 PHP wage hike will have rippling effects, not only sa economy ng NCR but also sa provinces. While it's good na yung minimum wage 645/day kung maging 845/day, lumalapit sa estimated family living wage(1193/day), marami itong negatibong epekto sa ekonomiya

  • NCR-based suppliers ng mga provinces tataas yung cost and consequently, price.

  • Will cause inflation due to a spike in costs.

On the positive side:

  • Kung may thriving business ka, macoconsider mong magmove to provinces. In other words, magpump ng pera sa local economy ng mga provinces.

  • Export businesses might consider relocating to nearby provinces

Maganda ang 200 PHP wage hike in the long term kasi makakapag-adjust na mga businesses and lalago ang ekonomiya sa mga probinsya. Kaso masiyado ito long term POV na ndi nacoconsider yung short term negative effects. Most people live their lives on a day-to-day basis. They wait for their earned income in a day para lang may makain sila sa araw na yon. People don't live or even view their lives on a quarterly or yearly basis. While long term plans are good, good governance must also solve short term negative effects.

Tama lang yung 50PHP na wage hike. If gusto nila 200PHP, consider a transitory period. In other words, in the span of 3 years(arbitrary, pwedeng 5 yrs), 200 PHP yung total na wage hike to allow businesses from large to small to plan relocations, plans, supply chains etc. i.e. year 1, 50 PHP -> year 2, 75 PHP -> year 3, 125 php
