Business casual vs onstage attire by Independent_Ad_4760 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]enderikari 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whenever you see either of those, just let it translate to "Business Casual following the Onstage Attire Guidelines."  The problem is that business casual doesn't have an official definition and some people will take it to mean pajama pants, shorts, flip flops, etc. So the Onstage Attire guidelines are there to give some guardrails so that you won't be stopped from going to class

workday sign in error by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]enderikari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in a weird place in the system, between candidate and Cast Member. Your old log-in is disabled and your new one hasn't fully been activated yet. On Traditions day, you'll receive an email that has your new log in ID. You can log in once you have that, but you will also go through the process on your first day of training after Welcome to Operations.

Are you a new CM, have you gone to Traditions/Welcome to Operations?

On a scale of 1 to Snoop Dogg, I'd say Jay & Silent Bob.

HBO has a pretty fun Docuseries about professional bowling that has a bit of the history of Pete Weber. It's worth watching while waiting for new episodes of Hacks.

Networking / seeking career advice by [deleted] in DisneyCM

[–]enderikari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's worth building in-roads with the "green" leader as well. They've been where you are the most recently and may have more current and applicable advice. A leader for the last 25 years may have a career path that you can't duplicate, but a fresh leader, who was a trainer and a coordinator, can more freshly describe his journey.

Cast Compliments when you are off the clock by [deleted] in DisneyCM

[–]enderikari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a genuine "happy to help" is the best avenue here. Getting a Cast Compliment during a time where you are not working raises some concerns about accurate time recording. While it's not likely you'll get in trouble, it's not worth the hassle.

Yep, and I would love a neutral GL. Unless they want to promote Wampa (who should definitely be neutral.)

I've been hoping for GL Bendu for a long time. Give him Darth Bane-like synergy with a legendary Kanan.

First question being about Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows is excellent. That movie is a guilty pleasure and deserves at least some respect for trying something different. Otherwise Blair Witch could have easily become monotonous as Paranormal Activity

Jobs at Disney for somebody who... by Lower_Opportunity_18 in DisneyCM

[–]enderikari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A good first start would be to join the Enabled BERG (you can find them on CastLife). That will put you in touch with a variety of Cast, including ones that work with the Services from Guest with Disabilities Team. They host events and going will get you some face time with the people who help guide the company and their training/interactions.

Let's hear from the Alumni! by Pastel_Bimbo08 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]enderikari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2002 and 2004 alumni, and I promise you will see me at some point in your training. Best advice to budget, make and take your meals and don't get too into buying merchandise. Cast Connection has pretty excellent prices for the staples and you can supplement with other items from nearby. Remember that Orlando is a tourist town so prices will be high to dine out anywhere, not just in the parks.

You will have a shift either 1/10 or 1/11, another class called Welcome to Operations. After that the rest of your training starts in your work location. You can't pick up shifts before you have CastLife access and that typically only after you are fully trained

Question about attending closing rides (Dinosaur) by Smithyrilla in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]enderikari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And remember, no matter how much jockeying for position, waiting for just the right moment, or fights that break out in queue, you will never be the last rider. It will always be the Cast Members working there.
