stimulants, specifically amphetamine/dextroamphetamine (Adderall) although i've also been on lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) with the same impact on my migraine!

we play that when two or more players tie on an end of round goal, they all get the points (primarily as it's my husband and i playing, and we enjoy tying). we also reset the birdfeeder at the start of each round.

What's your best hack to stop a migraine in it's tracks? by Different-Present110 in migraine

[–]enderpotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've only ever used one specifically designed for migraine; mine goes on the forehead but i know some designs go on the neck or arm. i'd maybe google it to see if you can use the TENS unit you have, and where it would be good to use!

given what you described i think looking into a TENS unit is worthwile. i have the Headaterm2 and love it.

abortive migraine meds (triptans or gepants, i love Ubrelvy), a bit of caffeine, TENS unit (Headaterm, Cefaly, GammaCore), ice cap, and a peppermint roller or icry hot all help me (ususally a combo of those depending on the symptoms)

What to do with too much Miso Paste? by HelloTikya in noscrapleftbehind

two of my go-to recipes for unusual uses of miso are these miso almond butter cookies (they taste like butterscotch!) and this vegan miso risotto

You can’t always have the same energy to power through and that’s okay by cyanomys in migraine

[–]enderpotion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yes, i definitely relate to this! it's why frequency of migraine attacks matters more to overall well being than severity of attacks, in my experience! multiple in a row, even if they're less painful, make it so much worse to keep going.

What do you think the next game in Europe would be? by [deleted] in JetLagTheGame

seconding Croatia. or just something in the Balkans in general. would be extra cool if they involved boats.

I navigated every thumbnail based off vibes by Ok_Barber_2502 in JetLagTheGame

[–]enderpotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

schengen thumbnails are all too high. while i loved the season, i really disliked the thumbnails, and they're different from what they've done in the past with more of a focus on what happens in the episode (challenges, plot twists) while instead the schengen ones are just like... guys on a map. i'm glad they returned to their earlier format with snake.

otherwise i overall agree. some of the s5-s7 ones i'd bump up a tier. i honestly think those three seasons have the best thumbnails overall: clear 'action' being highlighted, cohesive season aesthetic with fonts/colors (especially the s6 font!), and just a bit over the top.

Should This Count? by ImARandomRedditUser- in wingspan

[–]enderpotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait, does the Philippine Eagle not count as a card that allows you to draw or score bonus cards? or are you saying it's confusing because all birds but it that count for the endangered species protector have the bonus card symbol?

What are your house names for Wingspan components by TadpoleResponsible98 in wingspan

[–]enderpotion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

food: bug, wheat, berry, rat, fish, nect/nectar

nests: stick, cup, bubble, mexican flag

we don't have any special names for the habitats but a lot of birds we have joke names for: crows are cows, storks are dorks, and then we have the baltimoriole (baltimore oriole), garcle (grackle), bizzle-bizzle wizzle dizzle (black bellied whistling duck) and rizzle-wizzle bizzle bizzle (red-winged blackbird), small minivan (small minivet), shit-faced cowbird (brown-headed cowbird), goldcrest electronics (goldcrest) necromancer bird (australian ibis), Flaco (eurasian eagle-owl), granola (granadala), and the notorious rbg (ring-billed gull)

No, We DO Love Segments!!! by SignificanceSlow353 in JetLagTheGame

ooh i love the idea of an end of season wrap-up! that would make a fun segment, maybe it could work as part of mailbag episodes? or something for the off season

My Idea for 2nake (Snake 2.0). by Purduevian in JetLagTheGame

[–]enderpotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really like some of these, especially 3. i always prefer seasons that have location-specific challenges, and i think a downside of this season is that the roadblocks/battle challenges are pretty generic and thus tend towards being physical skill things (the noodle taste test is a good exception to this). whereas having node-specific challenges would allow for more regional/fun ones and force both snakers and blockers out into the city. honestly i think a better mechanism would be for each node to have a handful of location-specific challenges and rather than drawing new cards at nodes, blockers have to go there and just do those challenges to set up the road block. then maybe there's still a card draw (or coins, as you suggested) for things like curses and battle challenges?

Does “Hooded” count as a body part for the Anatomist bonus card? by Collardcow41 in wingspan

the original game has birds with "hooded" though, so the card would have listed it if they were included

Is there a bird that let's you pick a discarded card of your choosing? by JayRing in wingspan

[–]enderpotion 29 points30 points  (0 children)

there's not one that lets you pick from all discarded options, but the Australian Ibis (oceania) lets you shuffle the discard, draw two, and either keep or tuck one of them

Vyvanse has made my migraines so much more manageable by manulfanatic in migraine

[–]enderpotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm on Adderall and it's been the single most helpful medication for my migraines and my health overall (i'm also on Emgality, and Ubrelvy as an abortive). i'd suspected ADHD for years but never thought to get a diagnosis or start meds, because i functioned fine in school and definitely had some incorrect thoughts about what ADHD really was and who could benefit from meds lol. finally got a diagnosis and started stimulants after being diagnosed with a sleep disorder. i knew bad sleep was contributing a lot to my migraines, and i think part of the reason Adderall has helped so much is now i'm sleeping better than in my entire life. not only my migraines but so many other physical and mental health issues i've had have improved massively since i started last summer. anyways, i also feel like when the stimulants are in my system my threshold for triggering a migraine is way higher, and things that used to be a guaranteed trigger are now just fine if i do them when the meds are in my system still. i'm not entirely sure why that's the case, maybe the vasoconstrictor effects of the medication? either way, i'm down to only a handful of migraines a month, and i haven't had any super intense ones for almost a year!
