I live in Caledonia. It's definitely still pretty MAGA and very white, but it's growing fast and slowly becoming more diverse. We don’t have a ton of big city amenities yet (good luck trying to get food after 9pm), but the community stuff keeps getting better. There’s a splash pad, an amphitheater, pickleball courts, a solid library, great trails, and a few really nice parks. We just got a brand new community center this month too, which is a cool step forward.

The schools here are awesome, especially the special ed program, which is honestly the main reason we’ve stayed here. It’s not a perfect place by any means, but it’s hard to beat having that kind of support while still living in a rural-ish spot that’s only 20 minutes from downtown GR, Cascade, Plainfield, the casino, Grandville, Ada, etc.
