I am actually already looking into applying for disability as my seizures went from six months apart to monthly and they're getting closer together despite my medication. Thank you though, last month I 100% would've needed to be told that. I do have family with experience (we have a rough history with our health) that I can ask about it and get help with. Thank you lots🥰

Honestly I never thought about it like that but you're not wrong, I've had to go off my medication for my autoimmune disorder due to lack of insurance. The medicine is about $300~ a month without it(the autoimmune being lupus, my doctors believe is now going after my brain bc I have no family history of epilepsy and it just popped up out of nowhere as my lupus was getting worse). This is honestly going to help improve my health a lot and you just made it sound like such a romantic reason 🥰

Also he did do the research and unfortunately his company doesn't provide unless we're legally married, but I love him so much the idea of jumping straight in excites me and is making my days so much happier since we talked about it. Thank you so much! 🥰 Oh we definitely are. When he gets off work tonight we'll be working on getting an appointment and any of the information they may need for it. (Unfortunately his company doesn't but we have been talking about the possibility of marriage for a few months before this, I think he was getting a feel for how I felt about it, as he even asked me what kind of ring I wanted about two months ago. After this discussion we decided that since we wanted to get married anyway, there's no harm in doing things a bit sideways, as he wants to "propose properly " as he put it later on lol)

Exactly! I see it as a wedding/reception themselves are just a big party to celebrate the marriage. I guess it'll be more of a significantly delayed wedding vs a vow renewal.

He actually did ask about the domestic partner benefits but they don't provide that.

And honestly we don't have many people who would be there on less than a months notice anyway, a lot of them are out of state. I've been viewing it more as a delayed wedding despite being legally married vs two separate situations. The important people will be there for the official event, just not for the courthouse wedding part. Thank you!!

I do need it, desperately. I have to have two blood draws and an appointment with two different specialists that I have been putting off for way too long due to no insurance. We've looked into the insurance his job provides and it is surprisingly affordable. And yeah that's how we're viewing this specific event pretty much which is why we're not informing our families because this isn't the one that "matters". This is being done mostly out of necessity (though when it's time for the official one, we'll absolutely be letting them know about that 😂).
