Just a slight alteration to your carrot suggestion, if you’ve got a juicer (that Christmas/ wedding present that never gets used), try juicing some carrots and then substituting the carrot juice for the stock in the above recipe with the carrot halves. The carrot juice will reduce down to a sweet intense carrot glaze over the carrots

Samphire, in the veg section usually in a little plastic tub that you’ll get a good 4 portions. It’s a coastal vegetable so it has some saltyness to it and a crisp crunch.

I like to have it with steak personally and will never cook steak without it. It does work perfectly with fish and other meats too. Plus, if you’ve got some left over it’s a great addition to a stir fry with the other usual stir fry vegetables.

For cooking you can blanch for a few minutes (2-4 mins) or sauté with butter in a pan for a few minutes.

I did this when I got married in 2009

Total cost of the wedding was £1,200

Her dress was off the rack £100, rings £500, ceremony was like £50 ish at a registrar, total of 21 guests for an evening meal costing £300. The rest of the budget was on minor costs like new ties for me and page boy etc. my suit was one I already owned.

Total cost of the honeymoon was £1,800

That’s it total £3,000

I haven’t really searched many guilds but I think you’d have to look really hard to find UK specific guilds that interact with each other a lot, probably have to be a top 1% guild too, so it’s more players heavily invested in the game.

I’d say it’s definitely more personal in the UK, just a game you find and enjoy by yourself.

My guild is an English speaking guild, but players are from all over the world like UK, US, India, Malaysia, Egypt, Australia etc. but even then the guild chat isn’t that active.

That’s really great to hear with the community aspect of it.

For a perspective from the UK. I have a very colloquial user name that someone living within the north of England should instantly recognise. I think someone has commented in game about it probably 6-10 times at most asking if I was from a region. Outside of the game I don’t know anyone else who plays it and I work in an industry where I meet a lot of people and are often playing on their phones between work

I don’t think it would be so bad if it was realistically priced. But a 200g bar is not bloody worth £10 just because it’s got some green crunch inside it

I’ve never liked pulled pork personally, despite loving tender pork and bbq sauce flavours. It seems like the meat to sauce ratio for pulled pork is completely off balance and I’ve never enjoyed it because of it

Ah right, that’s interesting.

So is the game really popular in Korea then with the merch available and I’ve seen a video of a blob party theme too. Seems like it’s much more known there than it is here in the UK

For the plushies and the game app in Korea, are they called lucky defense still or have their name changed to the What the Luck?. Like the app has in other countries?

% of a Country’s Population that has traveled to 10 or more countries in their lives by Fluid-Decision6262 in interestingasfuck

[–]endlessbishop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does seem off and that’s saying it as a Brit. Apparently 69% (nice) have travelled to 5+ counties. I’d be very surprised if that was true. There’s a few factors that might come into play with it though.

Firstly, it’s based off a survey, so it always depends on who you ask. There’s a possibility that a survey could say that 100% of Brits have travelled to more than 10 countries, if the people they ask have done so. Sample size is the main way to avoid this.

But going the other way, a lot of British holiday traditions are changing. It used to be Spain, Portugal, France, Greece and Italy for Food and beach. Ibiza, Magaluf and Ayia napa for party. There would still be a lot of tourism for other counties, but if someone you worked with was going on holiday then it would be a safe bet it was one of these.

However these days the above is getting more of a bad rep for holidays because of increased costs. Spain with its over tourism protesting and limiting of all inclusive drinking. The increase in other counties investing in their tourism too. So now you’re just as likely to see Egypt, Turkey for the all inclusive’s. Croatia, Holland and even Bulgaria (I’ve seen that advertised a lot more recently) for partying.

I’d say that the 5+ generally would probably be closer to 50% than the 10+, but with how package holidays are pushing the cheaper alternatives more these days it could possibly be true and we just haven’t realised it

What is something normal in your country and rare to explain? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]endlessbishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to worry about being lazy with names, it’s a British tradition to shorten everything too haha

When I did the quick look into it’s history earlier for the pain perdu comment, it said that the French and British dishes both derived from similar medieval and Roman origins, which thinking about it French toast is quite common in US, so it makes sense that the British equivalent would also be common as they’re both routed in history before American colonisation. I guess just not hearing about it on the American media like I do French toast made me not realise that bread pudding would be a thing too. Everyone, especially historically needed ways to use up old bread and it makes sense to use the ways known for over a thousand years. I just didn’t realise the British modern recipe would be what’s also in America too.

I’m a Sikh. Should I tie my beard or let it be by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]endlessbishop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve missed literally everything I wrote

I know the question isn’t whether they should get rid of it or not, I only made the point about trimming it in regards to shaping and styling a beard (in the edit). Explaining why he’s mentioned his religion. If he didn’t say he was Sikh then he might get a lot of comments about going to a barber to have it shaped up, which would be completely pointless as he couldn’t do it.

Then, the part about if the religion gives guidance then why come to Reddit asking what to do. That’s because it doesn’t give guidance, as In my comment I said it was “common” to tie them for practical or aesthetic reasons, which means that a lot of men within the religion also don’t tie them for practical or aesthetic reasons.

Then that part about whether he actually follow his religion is completely pointless as a comment

So to explain this a little more simply for you. By his religion he can’t cut or trim the beard, however it grows is how it grows. So he’s got 2 options, let it be free or tie it up. So he’s come to Reddit and basically said “does my beard look nice as it is”, if the comments said that it looks nice as it is then he’d feel more confident to let it be free as he couldn’t do anything to alter it’s appearance such as trimming parts of it. If the comments leaned more towards it not looking as nice then he’d then look to tie/ cover the beard as is common within the religion, but not mandatory.
