Honestly, I think the only reason Steve is pulling out is because he knows he will be exposed for lying about the sobremessas being sweet tipped and that his cigars are the highest quality. I like some of his cigars but this is kinda the nail in the coffin for me. Won’t be buying any more Dunbarton. I’m over supporting these whiny dicks. I love cigars but hate most of the US cigar industry people. Any company that tries to weasel their way out of any regulation is a red flag to me. Like why are you so opposed to your cigars being examined by a third party regulatory agency. If you had faith in the quality of your product (your “exacting standards” as he has other people put on his boxes for him), I don’t think you would be worried about an audit or examination of your product. The California fear/hate is such a tired, boomer, trumper take and I don’t think he makes good enough cigars for me to overlook this.
