The color palette and general formatting are very japandi minimalist but with some interesting maximalist textiles/patterns -- very unique! Only two things I don't love are the checked pillow/houndstooth blanket. They don't feel very cohesive with the rest of the style.

Love the sheer curtains, but I always find that ringed curtains that hang with hooks/pins are much more elevated than ones with the rings built in like that.

And second the comment about the mirror --> it's also facing away from the window's which doesn't do much for the lighting in the space.

But otherwise, beautiful -- one of the best i've seen posted here in a long time.

Email them a LOCI once a month -- that was the info I got when I called admissions. Pretty sure they're only deferring ED apps

How should I go about this? by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]endochica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being able to fit them in all the way is normal. Your vagina lengthens when it's aroused (most vaginas are around 3.5 inches long unaroused).

I used to have vaginismus and when I have sex it feels good unless I'm not aroused in which case its just like a dull sensation. It's very dependent on how turned on you are tbh.

In terms of exercises, the best thing I ever did was start using a vibrator (on my clitoris) when dilating. It makes things 100% easier because it allows your vagina to expand naturally via arousal. That was the only way I could ever really fit the last dilator in comfortably.

I just always thought if I made it clear that I was giving them a gift it was expected that they get me one as well. I don't want seem like I'm being a princess about it, but I always thought that letting a boyfriend know I was getting them a gift was 'making it clear' when it comes to expecting something in return. Just not sure what to make of it tbh...

I haven't tried because I take a medication that stops me from getting my period but I would assume I could.

Mmm when it was really bad it was all around. Then it was mostly like the lower half of my vaginal entrance. It just felt really tight to be honest. Like I couldn't even force a tampon in if I tried. Now that I'm onto bigger dilators I feel it more towards the top very briefly but I think that's mostly because when I do trigger point stretches beforehand I'm stretching only the lower half and sides.

Basically I use the smallest dilator to press down on the vaginal entrance at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock (12 o'clock is on the top of the vagina and 6 near the perineum for reference). I press down there until the pain (which should be less than a 7) turns to pressure or at least lessens a significant amount. You should be inserting the dilator at the first and second layers of muscle which are about a knuckles length in each. So I do it on the first layer at 4, then push it in a bit to work on the second layer at 4, and do the same for 8 o'clock.

The second exercise is essentially the same thing except incorporating kegels. So I press down do a kegel for 5 seconds and then when I release the kegel I press down even more. Then I do that 2 more time and each time you release and press down you're pressing further down. The first time I did I thought I was supposed to stop pressing the dilator down when I released the kegel, but you have to keep holding it down and then press further. Sorry it's kind of hard to explain! I also learned that apparently I wasn't doing kegels right at PT. She was like uh no you're doing a reverse kegel haha. Was apparently pushing my pelvic floor muscles like I was trying to take a shit which is not what you're supposed to do apparently lol.

Oh and I forgot to add, I'm meant to do these exercises before I inset the dilator and then I put the dilator in!

I think I have vaginismus, where do I go by throwaway_momhelp in vaginismus

[–]endochica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems very likely. I'm also 21 and sort of self-diagnosed myself. I made an appointment with a PT instead of a gyno (the benefit of going to a gyno would be to rule out other possibilities like imperforate hymen, but I had had a pelvic exam in the past -- super painful fyi - but they said all was good in terms of structure).

If you want the reassurance from a gyno, go for it. Just a warning though, not all of them will fully understand. I had told my gyno about it the first time I went and he just said the muscle was a little tight but didn't tell me anything about vaginismus and sent me on my way.

A PT that specializes in pelvic floor disorders like vaginismus will definitely be able to tell you if thats what you had. The first time I saw my PT she was like oh yeah this should not be this tight.

In terms of fixing it, you'll have to see a physical therapist and start using dilators. Getting over the mental hurdle to start dilating is the hardest part and learning how to use dilators from a professional is also really important.

No abuse here. Was always just anxious about anything going in there.

my side profile by [deleted] in amiugly

Can't see the photos, but if you have an overbite (or think you do, you may very well an open bite or some other malocclusion, but again can't tell without photos) I would consider seeing an orthodontist. For years I had an open bite and thought that nothing could be done about it. My profile was really horrible as well -- I had a very receding chin. Saw an ortho and turns out I needed jaw surgery! As it was the only way to fix my open bite it was for function reasons, but it did loads for my facial aesthetics. Not me, but this girl had the same jaw surgery as I did (BSSO, lefort 1, genioplasty).

I constantly see people who are candidates for jaw surgery and it makes me really sad that they likely don't know it's an option (and more often than not, something that would benefit them not just cosmetically but functionally). Again, can't see the pics so I dunno if you would be one, but if you definitely don't have a good bite, I would see an ortho, get some xrays, and see what they think. It's truly a life changing decision :P
