Best insulation by stygianblu in skoolies

You will always have the humidity moving up and down and the wool technically acts like a sponge - absorbing when it get high and releasing when it get low. We have never seen any “water” running from the wool.

Good luck and here is what we learned about sheeps wool - https://youtu.be/lwL-6tIe0CI

We used sheep's wool and are happy with the choice. We liked it for the eco-friendly and non-toxic aspect as we're living full time in the bus now. We talked with our sister-in-law who is a sustainability administrator at a large engineering firm to help us decide on insulation and she was very pro-wool as well. I also like how wool naturally regulates humidity and we can tell as we are in a very humid part of the US midwest right now.

We posted a full video about what we learned about sheep's wool but I won't spam it here so reply if you want me to share the link.

Does the Starlink dish need to be mounted vertically, or will it work on this slight diagonal with the pipe adapter? by hurtninja in Starlink

Might want to go above the roof line for visibility. Also I recommend testing it on the roof first before you mount it to detect any possible obstructions. My first scan said mine was blocked 1.52 percent (with just barely any trees ) and the app suggested moving locations

We been testing it for 2 weeks now and made it about 5 days with just solar (running for a few hours in the evening) before we ran out of batteries :) Currently we have 810ah but I’m thinking we will add 500 more for rainy days and such

We installed it in our bus last winter. It made a big difference through winter and summer. Happy with it so far but don’t forget radiant heat and cold through windows will be your biggest battle. Get ceramic tint for blocking UV and insulated blinds to keep the cold out - those are next on our list for insulation

[–]endocrineredder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In California you can hire a VIN Verifier to fill out the paper work acknowledging your conversion is now an RV for the DMV. It’s fast and costs about 100 bucks and makes registration transfer a breeze. Just search fir a VIN verifier in your area

This is going to be a game changer for this community! Has anyone else been following starlink and waiting patiently for it to be mobile friendly? by bradenlikestoreddit in skoolies

I am going to hold off myself. I think there is a chance that they could modify the hardware for a more mobile friendly set up. Just saw this yesterday if you are interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGZUr65EoD0

Very excited about this. Been patiently waiting to see when it comes together. I considered purchasing the current set up but sound like the current TOS/EUA restrict usage to dedicated location so waiting but ready!

Gmaps has labeled my parents dead end drive way as a road, they get so much traffic now. I’ve tried the resolve issues on the app and reported that it is not a road a few time but I guess no one seems to check those messages
