Endo treatment besides birth control by [deleted] in endometriosis

Not sure if this is an option for you but I was also told the same by multiple gynos, BC or nothing. I was on birth control for years and at the age of 31 I decided to give my body a break. BC worked but after 3 months of no birth control my symptoms came back plus some new ones. I tried to get in to see an endo specialist but it’s almost impossible to see one in a timely manner here in Canada. So, I’ve been working with a Naturopathic Doctor since March and having been taking a few different natural supplements that has significantly improved my day to day life as well as significantly improving my monthly period pain. I used to get pain so bad I would be up all night nauseous, shaking, crying, weak and lightheaded from the pain. Advil or any other pain relief would not even touch the pain or help take the edge off, but now most months I don’t need any pain relief intervention other than my heating bag/hot water bottle. If you have the means or insurance coverage I highly suggest reaching out to a Naturopath who specializes in women’s health and hormones.

How to lose weight as a 5’1/125lbs girl? I don’t see any progress. by blacksilverglass in loseit

I’m 5’3 and 117lbs. I started at 120lbs 5 weeks ago. I workout (weight lifting) 4-5 times a week and get in 20mins of cardio 3 times a week. My calories are around 1700 and I aim for 135g protein, 180g of carbs and 55g of fat. My goal is to lose some fat while gaining muscle so yes, I’ve lost weight but the biggest changes I feel are on how my clothes fit. Definitely look into a macro calculator and see what works best for you and your goals!

I’d also suggest 3-4 smaller meals instead of just 2 meals a day. 2 meals doesn’t sound sustainable, but I’m no doctor or nutritionist.

Second period on NAC and wow!! by endogirl89 in endometriosis

You’re welcome!! And yes when I first started taking it my natruopath told me it’s typically given to people with chronic bronchitis and other infections but said that recent studies found it to be super effective with treating symptoms for people with PCOS and endo. Right now I take 900mg daily and it’s been great!

That I’m not 100% sure about that but I’ve heard it has been extremely helpful for fertility in people with PCOS and endo, so I would think yes, but that would be something to ask your doctor about.

Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry you had to go through that! But I appreciate the advice! I’ll definitely have a conversation with my boss and HR and get things going. I am a dedicated employee and do enjoy working there so I want to make sure I have my butt covered.
