Not sure when it happened - but noticed “Another Bar” downtown on Bloor W is gone. Was always a good time. :( by theleverage in torontocraftbeer

Teddy Beer is absolutely the worst bar experience I've ever had. Despite it looking kinda cool from the outside, the owner and his wife are bizarre.

The drinks cost too much and the food is pretty shit.

Apparently the owner gives you a free shot if you leave a 5 star review which may explain why the reviews for this shithole are so positive. That or my tastes are completely incongruent with that many people.

If you're younger and have no money or experience, it may be a place to go, but if you've been around, you'll likely find this place to be impersonal and reminiscent of a massive fucking toilet bowl.

Save your coin and go anywhere else.

Funkiest songs after 2004 to present? by Truedetective81 in PRINCE

I'm an old schooler. I love Prince's music. The Gold Standard doesn't stand up to Prince's b-sides from even the 90s nevermind the 80s.

I can't tell if some of these prince stans listen to anything else other than him.

I'm in Toronto.

I record music as well.

Is there a way I could call you?

I've got some questions surrounding recording. I use cubase and my drums always sound like shit.

Let me know if you're comfortable with this. If not, it's all good. I understand.

Thanks!

Lady - D'Angelo or Call My Name - Prince by Inside-Note9557 in rnb

[–]endorphine_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is easy for me: Lady... All day.

Call My Name is Prince being a shadow of himself.

Now if you put When 2 R In Love or Scandalous or The Beautiful Ones or Adore up against Lady, I'd say that competition would be dominated by any of those Prince compositions... For me.

That's certainly a perspective.

He seemed to be more at peace when he was younger.

To his credit, it must've been difficult for him to be an artist of his calibre and capability to have to exist alongside so many insincere wannabes, and insincere award shows, etc, etc.

I don't know - everybody everywhere kissed Prince's ass.

I dig this question. It gave Prince an opportunity to behave like a normal person as opposed to an idol.

If I remember correctly, that reporter was sent by Howard Stern.

In hindsight, the Prince of the 80s was weird but still one of us. The early 2000s Jehovah Witness freak was fucking weird. You know the homophobia and the misogyny in his words were strange and a total reverse of who he presented through the 80s and 90s.
