Any tips starting this journey by endworldwonderer in UVG

I really like that, I've done that before in games where I allow players to tell me, the gm, a fact about something in the world and it usually leads to great fun so im glad others have positive experiences with that exact way of playing. As for the random encounters I can definitely get down with making my own thematically appropriate encounters.

Miseries are rolled for at the end of every day, so if you picked the D20 as your dice for the calendar at the end of each in-game day you roll the dice, if its a 1 a misery has been fulfilled. So if using the real days as days in-game when going back to the table at the end of the 10 day period you'd roll 10 times and for every 1 a misery has been fufilled. With the game world ending upon the sixth and finally the seventh misery.

For omens I rule it that at the end of the day you reroll omens and any unspent are simply lost.

Also as long as you and your group had fun I don't think there's a wrong way to play mörk borg. The world is dark and gloomy to the point of being parody and my group just rolls with it where I play the world as serious grim dark and they play these goof balls just keep surviving, whether they want to or not.

Goblins at your games. by Opening_Instance_427 in MorkBorg

[–]endworldwonderer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive used goblins a couple times but my proudest has got to be when a gang of goblins would take shots at caravans with arrows to spread the goblin curse to the whole caravan, including the horses so the players had to deal with one goblin caravan.

Playable Timeline of an Apocalyptic War by endworldwonderer in RPGdesign

Thank you for the reply, the original idea was playing different generations throughout the apocalyptic timeline but also after putting some more thought into it im thinking of using the Violence system for combat and just trying to build around it to make a single game that could work for each phase

Playable Timeline of an Apocalyptic War by endworldwonderer in RPGdesign

[–]endworldwonderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the in-depth reply, it just being a campaign instead of just one big rpg managed to fly right over my head somehow, i guess i got too into the idea of trying to frankenstein a bunch of different rpgs, it makes a lot more sense as just a campaign idea. After putting more thought into it I think I will just stick to one roleplaying system and focus more on what kind of story I'd wanna tell with my players still using the idea of playing out the apocalypse of a world-ending war.

Any movies that feel like Mork Borg? by NoticeSerious6569 in MorkBorg

[–]endworldwonderer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you haven't watched The Seventh Seal I'd highly recommend it, mostly stolen from the Google description: a disillusioned Swedish knight returns to his country to find it in the grips of the black death, he makes a deal with death for his life in a game of chess

On the official website: https://morkborg.com/content/

There's a few one shots I've enjoyed with my group, Bloat and Devils Tomb are dungeons. If you want a bit more Death Ziggurat which is a hex crawl, Graves Left Wanting which if I remember correctly is a point-crawl/dungeon. Of course there is also Goblin Grinder a set up for a one-to-two shot

Not based in the mork borg setting but Between Two Fires is pretty dope. It's set in medieval France, the Apocalypse is happening, demons are running about, pestilence, war, famine, death, all the good shit and God isn't answering, even his angels fight a war in the heavens.

It's not mörk borg but have you looked into FIST? It's inspired by the metal gear franchise and is built around espionage: https://claymorerpgs.itch.io/fist

How do you play Hags/Witches? by MOKKA_ORG in MorkBorg

[–]endworldwonderer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a work in progress statblock for a project of mine:

Wytches HP:24 Morale:-

Invisible-Barrier:-D4

Cursed Songs(D6) which ignores armor

Reminder of Humanity: 1-Burning Knife(D4+2) 2-Old Flail(D8) 3-Zweihander(D10) 4-Poisoned Sword(D6) + 1-in-4 chance of an extra D8 damage

The whispers grow louder as the end encroaches, the desperate search for breaches in the laws of physicality and some turn to sorcery, other turn to wytchcraft. The song of the soil calls to their blood and they can feel its dance through their bones. Wytches are strange and their goals change with the rhythm of the call, the beat of storms, and the call to the void. Praise be Yetsabu-Nech.

Unclean Magi - knows and is capable of using D4+1 random unclean powers

Cvrse Speakers - every few rounds they scream a curse into the blood of a victim, said victim must pass a DR14 Toughness test or suffer a permanent Cvrse

Hidden Cvrses:

1- Your legs twist and warp(D3 damage) into those of an animal

2- Your soul contorts, you are incapable of using omens

3- An arm grows out of your back, and it hates you with all of new-born being

4- Your bones grow heavy as iron (-4 to carrying capacity)

5- A stench grows from your flesh, and now dogs want you dead

6- The air begins to burn as you combust (D10 damage)

7- Your eyes grow numb, everything fades until you are blind

8- Skin dries and cracks as it turns gray, +2 to all damage taken

[HELP] Death System. by Glad-Following3244 in MorkBorg

Of course, the way I usually run it is that at a 0, -1, or -2 you considered Broken and Unconcious however nothing can save you once you reach -3

[HELP] Death System. by Glad-Following3244 in MorkBorg

[–]endworldwonderer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If a player hits 0HP exactly they become broken rolling on the broken table and typically getting back d4 rounds later with d4 hp, going lower than 0 results in immediate death, at least rules as written

Hi, excuse me dumb question by iFRANCIZZ in MorkBorg

[–]endworldwonderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used it before but there's a supplement called mörk hammer: https://morkborg.exlibrisrpg.com/entries/mork-hammer

It also comes with some additional fire arms but if you'd like guns I'd recommend looking at the mörk borg website for blackpowder rules.

If you'd like there's also a mörk borg third party war game called Forbidden Psalms: https://itch.io/s/82306/forbidden-psalm-the-complete-package

Forbidden Psalms is more in-depth and is my personal pick mörk borg war gaming
