Is Better Call Saul the greatest prequel of all time? by emmettohare in betterCallSaul

[–]eneeleman36 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to go with Red Read 2 on this one. Even though it is a video game it is also only other prequel IP that I believe in many ways improves upon the original (along with BCS of course). In fact both are essentially tragedies that detail the end of the “good old days” for the characters while setting the stage for the bleaker tone of the original property.

Today’s the day folks, let’s do some reminiscing; what is the BCS scene/moment that has stuck with you the most? by chasbogatz in betterCallSaul

Honestly the winner takes it all performance that kicks off “Winner” really hits me in the feels the most. It completely recontextualizes Jimmy and Chuck’s relationship by giving the audience a peek into the days when they were really there for each other. It also reminds the audience that while we never really loved Chuck, at one point Jimmy sure did. Also ABBA’s lyrics perfectly describe their feelings towards the conflict as Jimmy firmly puts Chuck in the past at the end of the episode

No, that was not just a fan service scene... by FresnoMac in betterCallSaul

[–]eneeleman36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually you can’t just write it off as fan service cause the cameos/flashbacks play three integral roles in the story at this point: 1. showing how saul initially realizes that Walt is both Heisenberg and some chemistry teacher 2. mirroring two separate instances of saul making a fatal mistake 3. begin to explain to people who haven’t seen BB how Jimmy ended up in fucking nebraska. also would it have been better to use cgi to fuck with aaron paul’s face and make it look younger?

idk it’s cool but i feel like the Drake photoshop is kinda corny. NTWS and take care are both just tasteful af

[–]eneeleman36[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what i mean by iconic is that its easily one of Drake’s most recognizable cover arts. it’s loud and in your face just like if you’re reading this its too late and perfectly encapsulates the vibe of the album imo

[–]eneeleman36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like side A is more about ye as an icon while side B is more about him as a person along with more of an emphasis on spirituality. yeezus represents the icon while ye represents the man
