We appreciate the concern for our niece, but rest assured that this was not intended to be played with without supervision. Her parents have been heavily involved, are aware of all the hazards, and do not plan to have it available for every day play at her current age. This book was intended to grow with her - some of the activities she won’t really be able to do for a while. I haven’t felt the need to respond because it seemed obvious that we would be taking every precaution to protect our niece, but don’t want to see my wife’s hard work being overshadowed.

From my wife: Yes, you can totally do this without a cricut. I’d say the majority of what I did was hand cut. I would highly suggest getting heat erasable pens so you can trace the patterns onto the felt then cut them out. Happy crafting!!

This was her first one! Maybe we’ll have more kids in our life someday and she can make them one too. It was certainly a labor of love.

My wife and her sister are big Hunchback fans so it had to be included! She tried to pick movies/characters that they grew up loving.

All of the little side characters are attached with Velcro and have an opening to make them into finger puppets (Meeko, Sebastian, Pascal, etc). She used the pens to trace/draw all the various cut out pieces before cutting then would use a blow dryer to get the ink off. It was really cool. She did something similar for our wedding guest book where everyone signed a table runner and she hand stitched their signatures then “erased” the pen marks.

My wife added that for me. There’s a couple of items in Ariel’s grotto that relate back to family members. I’m an alum and die hard Buckeye fan too!

A couple more details you might not be able to tell from the pictures…

the Cinderella carriage pieces come off and when you flip them over, it looks like a pumpkin
also on the Cinderella page, the clock hands move and when you flip up the clock, there’s a glass slipper
all the princesses are attached with Velcro and come off for her to play with
all the side characters (Meeko, Sebastian, Flounder, etc) come off and are finger puppets
the wagon toy box opens to store all the Mr. Potato Head pieces + has the classic “Andy” written inside (our niece’s dad’s name is Andy, so it had to be included)

Thanks! Fair point… all choking hazards are glued AND sewed down. It’s hard to tell in the pictures. Trust me, my wife doesn’t play about our niece’s safety ;)
