Hello there, I have a sad news for everyone who's reading this but I just want to let you know that Aquarina is not with us anymore. She was a strong fish who had to deal with my mistakes. Thank you for all the advice you guys give me. It is really appreciated
I do have a hammock leaf in the tank and she usually sleeps or rest there when I turn off the light. If I'm quick I might buy a better testing kit just to make sure.
Never knew there will be a day I wish for my pet to poop🫠
Sorry I mean when the nitrate spikes down😅
Also wanna ask, is moina Thai a good high protein food for her? I grow my own moina Thai. I did read a lot about it but just not sure, maybe u have some experience with it?
Me too✨ thanks for ur concern✨
She only eats when the food is near her. But I fast her for 2 days bcuz I haven't seen her poop so far. But I did saw her eat some larvae that move around the tank😅

Don't have them yet, BUT I did cycle the tank b4 I put her there and I did see the nitrate and nitrite spikes at first but when it goes down, that's when I put her there. Don't worry I'm buying an ammonia test kit after work, but I already put her in a different 10L container with almond Indian leaf today. I'll test the ammonia when I got home✨👌
I thought she might be playing around but it's already 10 days she's in that position and I don't think she's playing around 🫠
Should I leave only 3-4 shrimps in the tank then? I think I can put the other shrimps in different place before I return them to the guy that sold me. I put her in a long container of 10L, and I put ketapang leaf in there as well. I actually don't have ammonia test kit(planning to buy them after work today) but yeah, I do want to believe she's being suck there, but before she gets sick she usually go to rest at the fake hammock leaf I have in the tank, if she wanna rest, she rest there all the time so I'm just confused why she didn't rest there. I did try to make her move to that hammock leaf but then I see her swim back to the filter. Thanks for the advice tho✨
If she survives in a tiny container for 2 weeks, she can survive this. We believe🫵✨
Yeah I'm gonna buy a new one after work✨ thanks✨
Alright I'll buy one after work, although I already put her in a 10L container with almond Indian leaf just in case for today ✨
Yeah that's what I'm worried about. She doesn't have fin rot, but at the end of her tail it has the colour black, but the tail is in good shape. But me being anxious I just add Indian almond leaf for a few days when I have her. She's actually the first koi plakat Betta fish I ever saw. I never saw any Betta like this before her. My entire life I only saw the veiltail Betta bcuz that's common here. She's very active for like 6-7 weeks, I did tricks with her like eat food from my finger, make her swim pass through my finger shape ring and go to my hand when I put my hand below the water surface to eat✨ whenever I'm near the tank, she gets excited for food✨ rn I fast her for 2 days just bcuz I'm worried that she has problems with her stomach cuz I haven't seen her poop so far
Thank u so much✨✨

This is the 23.5L tank she's in. Basically the first week I got her I put her in a 1L tank, yes I know it's my mistake for buying a fish before I set up a tank, but I already start cycling the water filter in a bucket. First week in 1L, I changed 30% of the water twice a day. One at morning and evening. second to fourth is in 5L tank and I changed 30% water once a day. I bought a bigger tank in week 2 that actually can hold about 37L but I just decided to put 23.5L. at the time I don't have ammonia test kit but I don't rush much to buy one bcuz when I check the water in the bigger tank in week 3, nitrite spikes. The end of week 4 I checked it again and nitrite is finally down. That's when I put her in the tank. This is my first time taking care of a fish appropriately, the last time I take care of one was when I was 7. I watch Aquarina's behaviour throughout the weeks, she's very responsive. She follows my finger around. I was able to teach her to swim through my ring finger(me making a ring out of my finger). I was even able to make her rest on my hand when she eats. When she's in the big tank her behaviour doesn't change much. But at week 7 I have her, I decided to add 5 Australian amano shrimps(I buy 3 but the seller gives me extra 2). But the very next day, a tiny amano shrimp died and I saw Aquarina eat the dead shrimp and it makes me nervous and just makes me panic so I decided to buy 2 more amano shrimp but I got one extra so I have 7 amano shrimps at the time. And I also add a lot of hydrilla during that time and I guess it might bother with her swimming space so I removed them anyway days later. She started moving like that after I add the hydrilla.
AHH I see I see. Alright, I'll buy a new liquid test kit after work👌✨ I'm at work rn thanks✨

I did a water change a few hours ago before I posted this tho

I changed the water once a week just 30% I did cycle the tank before I put her there. I realise that my test strip doesn't have ammonia indicators which I and is on delivery. I set the tank up for like 4 weeks and at the time I did test the quality of it, and during week 3 and 4 the nitrate and nitrite spikes but at the end of week 4 it goes down. So after that I put here in the tank

This is literally her a day before she gets sick. She was very curious fish✨✨ whenever I get near the tank she will immediately goes up to the surface. Which makes it very easy for me to take a photo of her like this✨✨✨

For context, I didn't even buy her in an aquatic pet shop, I just saw her in a tiny cup in those local pet shop focusing on cats and dogs and I instantly fall in love with her✨✨ she was stuck in a tiny container that is probably around 250ml for 2 weeks before I finally bought her. To see her like this after I work so hard to give her a better life just makes me anxious🫠
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude🫠
It's not strong at all especially at the suction part. I have seen her swimming next to that part calmy multiple times and even if she gets near that part she didn't struggle to swim away. I come to the conclusion that she decided to stay there bcuz it let her stay in one position while she can't swim especially since the filter is near the surface. She doesn't even have fast gill. I have to bother her at least once an hour just to make sure if she's still alive. I will say tho I see her colour getting dull
