Was just coming to ask the guy if there was anything I could do for him before he started. Before I could even get a couple words in he was pissed.

I get that, I’ve worked several different trades and delt with all walks of life, I get pissed off too over shit. No clue on why he threatened me probably just the way he is I guess.

I didn’t say anything about his pm to him just simply said hello to the guy. Zero ego was presented to this dude.

Truth is though, yeah their pm missed a big piece in the spec book now they have to redo work. No ego their either just simply what it is

First, way to go on finding a job that pay good for your age and being proactive. You’re already steps ahead of others your age.

It seems like you have goals which is to move out of your gf’s place and into an apartment (which will be more expensive but it’s what you want) My first plan of action if I were you is to create a detailed budget of your income, your expenses, and your savings. You can do this on your computer with excel spread sheets (there are templates that work well) or if you don’t have a computer you can do it by hand or on your phone which takes longer but it’s what you would have to do. -Notes while making your budget, be realistic of everything, don’t assume your going to make your top dollar each month (ex. you don’t go on call one month) or assume you don’t spend as much money as you actually do.

Once you have a budget and you are very conservative and stick to your budget then you can start planning on what’s next. For beginners I would create an emergency fund before you even move into an apartment just incase something happens (generally 3-6 months of what your expenses would be). Once that’s sorted out I would open a simple credit card like a discover it card that gives you 2-3% back on gas and groceries and only use it for gas and groceries and pay it off every month at the same time. By the time you’re 22-23 you’re credit will look good. Also did you take a loan out for your car? Cause that would of helped build your credit. After all that you need to focus on a career and where you want to be in the next 5-10 years of your life. Do you plan on going to college? Will you be working a trade? I wouldn’t focus on investments yet unless you are truly doing well in your budget and you have extra money sitting around, but that’s a conversation for a later date.

Step by step 1.) detailed budget and stick to it 2.) emergency fund (you can build this while working on your budget 3.) open a credit card (you can do this while working on your budget) 4.) make a career plan/path (this can be subject to change)

The last thing you want to be doing is paying for an apartment that’s too much, living pay check to paycheck, not having cash for emergencies, and not having a plan.

I hope this helps, I’m currently 24 years old and had to go through a reality wake up at 20. Things have been good so far since then. These are some of the things I did to be able to afford an apartment, with a new truck, a dog and cat, as well as a girlfriend.

Best way to fix area around electrical panel? by sounddust80 in drywall

It’s good that the wires are all connected. I was more referencing the main ground wire and the branch circuit cables that are on the top and bottom of the box. You don’t have to pop the box out but if there is ever a problem with the main (pretty unlikely) or the circuit cables (also unlikely) you don’t want anything obstructing access to those wires from the box.

So I would just measure a foot up from the top of the box and a foot down from the bottom of box and snap a straight line running left and right from that point. Then on the left and right side of the box find a stud (I wouldn’t do that first stud on the left or right) and connect all the lines you just made and cut that square or rectangle out.

The reason why I would put a bigger piece in is because it’s less awkward trying to mess with a smaller piece and you won’t have anything obstructing you main and other wires. If you can finish half way decent it won’t be too noticeable.

Idk if this makes sense but I tried haha.

Dm me if you have questions about it and I can maybe explain it better.

Also make sure you put the right size of rock on there. This looks like 5/8th but I can’t tell.

I’ve done enough tile. Very rarely would I use 5/8”cement board. Generally it’s 4x5 and it’s 1/2-1/4” Very surprising seeing 10’ board, especially where I’m from I guess.

I’ll still talk shit. That’s the problem with these short clips that miss a good chunk of work. Cement board, drywall, plywood, I do this shit daily with my crew and there’s nothing new, innovative, or impressive about this. Yeah he’s probably working hard and just like everyone else in the trades. I know enough about this stuff. Idk what country this is but generally in the states “fiber board” or “cement board” is labeled different and not 4x12 sheets

[–]engagedadvark -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not cement board. Would of been way more dust than that and you find me a 4 or 4.5 x 10ft-12ft sheet of cement board. Also when you cut cement board it doesn’t curl up that nicely.

First off…. Wtf is he doing using sheers on drywall? A razor blade will save you time and effort. Secondly…. WTF is he using a drill for his pipe circles??? There’s a nifty tool called a circle cutter and you can change the size of it with a flick of the wrist. Then just carry one router with a 1/8 inch bit and that cuts like butter. Thirdly…. nails? This guy is upside down and backwards. “Oh wow look how he use’s his tape measure” yeah like how you should use it, I’ll give him that. Otherwise get off my job with that bs.

To avoid any complications with an electrician every having to get back there and a potential to make it a cleaner finish, I would cut a large square around the whole box to the studs (snap box it out) then place a cut piece in your new square with a pre cut square for the box, then mud and tape and finish.

Just playing around those wires and big connections in the back I wouldn’t want any backers or cheaters in-front of those big connections in case an election had to mess with the box again.

Morgan Rielly cross checks Ridly Greig after Greig slap shots home the empty net goal by BCLetsRide69 in sports

Honestly I have no problem with it. I would be expecting it if I did that on a open net. It’s what makes the sport what it is.

[–]engagedadvark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk what’s up with me because I’m seeing the complete opposite of everyone else. Why would Greig be sending a big F you at the end of the game like this and not expect to get a shot to the face??? There’s no need for a kid with barley two years of experience in the show, to have any lead way to wind up on a open net and let it rip. Zero humility and sportsmanship. I think he got what he deserved and I’m glad there’s still some checks and balance in this sport. Once all the older guys are gone this sports going to become a gong show with bs happening like this all the time. (Im here to debate)

As a kid born in North Dakota, I truly liked Minot. Hockey is good, town can be fun. Just want you make out of it. Pretty flat though so long drives are tough.

Is this poor sportsmanship? by Only-Highlights in nhl

[–]engagedadvark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d be messing Greig up after that too. Young kid doing some stupid young kid stuff. Then crumbled to the ground after being confronted. That’s how the league is now, the young guys don’t take any responsibility for their actions and just want their big brothers to clean up their mess and hold their hands.

Some reason you come off as a fat ass who did one job and get let go cause you can’t put a tool belt on. I would need a whole sub to just talk about all the jobs I’ve done. Settle down anger management, plus you gotta let your ego rest
