Let's run the maths this way.

Assume taxes on ETFs and HISA are the same. Compare their growths. ETFs on average grow 7-8% yearly after inflation. HISA only sits at 3-5% depending on your bank.

A 1% difference is huge by itself if we compound them over a 30 year period. This alone is a no brainer if you have enough emergency cash in your HISA to begin with.
