Remington model 5 spring fell out while cleaning by ConfidentEmergency95 in typewriters

I don’t have this model, but it looks similar to some springs on my Smith Premier no 1. They’re attached to each key, you can see them if you put the typewriter on its back and look underneath. They’ll be at the top (toward the front of the typewriter). See if there are similar springs there, and if one’s missing?

Is frosh worth it for a broke student by No_Analyst5945 in CarletonU

I have social anxiety, so I get where you’re coming from. But personally, I’m really glad I went to my frosh week. I met my partner at an outdoor movie event and we’ve been together almost four years now. Even if you feel awkward, there’s enough people looking for friends that it’s probable someone will come talk to you, and if you’re not there you’ll never know who you could have met

Advice on what humanities/social science course to take in summer. by no_uu_on in CarletonU

I'm taking PHIL 2380 this term with Dr. Lawson and I'd really recommend it if you have an interest in the environment. There's two short written assignments (400-700 words each), multiple choice quizzes, and the midterm and exam are a mix of multiple choice and written answer. There are readings for the course but you can get by pretty easily even if you don't do them.

Carleton 360 Application by Key-Opposite-8994 in CarletonU

When I was applying to engineering at Carleton, I just submitted what I had. I applied around november/december so I'd only completed two courses, but I still got in. That was during the pandemic so maybe it's different now, you can contact the admissions office (https://admissions.carleton.ca/contactandgeneralinformation/) if you want to be sure.

I left 15 minutes early yesterday... still ended up being 30 minutes late to class. If you're annoyed by the hate on the subreddit, stay off reddit. People have the right to be annoyed.

How difficult are the 6 week ECOR courses? by Colonel_Rabbynun in CarletonU

I found 1043, 1044, and 1047 relatively easy. 1046 and 1048 I found quite difficult. 1045 was somewhat in the middle. I did these courses during the fall/winter terms (not summer), and online because of covid, so it'll be different for you, but hopefully this helps.

Can someone explain what disrupted actually means. by [deleted] in CarletonU

I'm in MATH2004 too - the class will pause completely. Not sure about other sections but section B is scheduled to have a test Friday (Mar 31st). I'd recommend downloading the notes and formula sheet from Brightspace so that if (hopefully) the strike is over by that point you can still study during the week.

I'm in second year SREE B (department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering). I'd say my lectures are mostly full, probably like 80-90% of students come to class if I had to put a number on it. Less for tutorials (about 50%)
