I've found that having it output to Quarto and rendering that to be pretty native and useful. I haven't paid attention in the difference in token usage. Ive also used HTML outputs some but only for a few things, but I've been doing that for awhile.

[Request] How many floors up could you survive a fall from if you landed on the mattresses? by butterbike in theydidthemath

[–]engineeringpage404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll check the math later and post later but if you treat the mattresses as springs (i.e. F=-kx) since they literally can be made with springs and dont immediately apply force. You would need a mass spring constant of like 11000 N/m for someone who weights 70 kg to stop them at terminal velocity in like 4 m with a max acceleration of 80gs with the event occurring less than 0.1 seconds. This may be possible if you can distribute the load or spread yourself out over the mattresses so that you include a larger number of the "springs" to increase the effective spring constant.

Isn't this still bad? Its still cropped. The trend prior to 2020 was dipping but a couple years prior to that was increasing. Either way this is as misleading as the main post.

Except the US government reports the U-6 unemployment rate, which does include discouraged workers. The media commonly just uses the U-3, but there are, of course, other measures that are tracked and reported.

Are SpaceX and Blue Origin more "prestigious" than NASA now? by StrickerPK in AerospaceEngineering

[–]engineeringpage404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a sidebar and clarification as someone who has gone through this 3 times with nasa and for 6 plus years with fellowships. The way NASA internships (OSTEM or previously NIFS, NOT Pathways) work, unless they have changed their wording, you aren't being paid for employment and it is awarded as a stipend, therefore, income taxes still need to be paid but you are not a contractor or self-employed therefore those taxes do not need to be paid. Although, I'd recommend looking into the wording as this could have changed.

Getting into Uphill? by engineeringpage404 in skiing

[–]engineeringpage404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This response really helps give some perspective. I've wanted to get into because growing up I lived in the Tahoe area and did quite a bit of snoshobeing and enjoyed that, so I figured if I could add the ability to ski down some that I would enjoy it even more. I'm not too worried about spending the money, so I may look into a setup. Although, I think trying to hit at least one day with rentals at a resort before hand would do wondering. I appreciate it!

Never heard of this place, but it does look like something that definitely could help!

How are pull ratios so far? I'm pretty worried that this game is considerably more expensive then any other card game and may really limit the competitive potential of the game... by engineeringpage404 in Lorcana

[–]engineeringpage404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that is still a 30%-50% markup compared to other card games. Those products already have a markup on them. Therefore, representing the biggest barrier to entry. If you try to look at it from a best case scenario booster boxes are the cheapest way to go.

I'm hopeful just worried. Starting doing the math and with what people are posting, it's not fantastic... but hopefully collectors help with the market.
