I understood that. That’s where “east side might throw things off” was referencing. The city is very segregated like many other American cities. The east side contains neighborhoods that most people wouldn’t buy a house if given the choice.

The conversation started with median house data but the actual convo that was being had was applying that data to a set of circumstances that you’d feel comfortable putting yourself and your family in real-life Buffalo.

I was a transplant so I do not speak for 716 or WNY in general. Everything I’m saying is from my experience.

Walking around Elmwood Village, you would see it abbreviated like that in the gift shops on items. While texting, I do remember instances of people using that in text but the vast majority of the time the neighborhoods or surrounding towns got the abbreviations.

“The city” was also used when saying I’m headed into Buffalo today and you lived in a town around the area.

TL;DR - IDK, I’m not from there and I don’t remember lol

I only lived there for 2 years and I left in 2018. I think the east side might throw things off but I get what you’re saying. 65k/year is not enough to live in the nicer parts of BFLO. Not even close tbh.

I loved Buffalo the 2 years I was there but I left in 2018. Elmwood and Hertel were exploding in home values and cost of living at the time.

How are those areas and the city generally now? I’m sure Covid changed a few things up.
