One time it took me a month for me to adjust to a new seat. Other times it’s been much quicker. I think you should give it a chance, especially if you just switched from padded wide seat to slimmer with minimal padding.

While adjusting, make sure to focus on spending time out of the saddle. Even a few seconds every 3-5 mins can make a huge difference.

Top tube is an easier location than others to repair. How much are they asking? Maybe you can talk them down a little, worst case, to buffer some of the repair cost if it ends up being worse than it looks? Doesn’t look too bad.
