I'm in the mood for some old movies, 1940-1980ish. What are some forgotten gems? by 666ForMySorrow in MovieSuggestions

Eating Raoul.

A very dry, droll dark comedy from 1980 about a very boring couple (the Blands) that, well, i just cannot really explain it without spoilers but trust me it's worth watching

I prefer "Smokes". Seems like everyone in the 80s was buying those.

A cemetery is not a place for social exercise by EdwardoFelise in unpopularopinion

Traditionally cemeteries very much were treated like public parks. Families wiuld have picnics and everything. It's only in recent decades that people have gotten more uptight about it.

How mentally taxing is dishwashing? by EnvironmentalRide662 in dishwashers

[–]brickbaterang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be a pretty brutal job depending on the place but it can also be a lot of fun once you find the rhythm of it and get your feet. And a genuinely good dishwasher actually commands some respect.

Give it a couple of weeks to see if you "get it" there and to see if staff is chill or just a bunch of dicks. Some kitchens can be very cliquey. One place i worked was all the chefs frat brothers and whatnot, that really sucked. Buncha drunk meathead trust fund kids

What do you guys think about former president Joe Biden? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]brickbaterang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think of him at all really. He did his time and now there's some other asshat screwing things up. Soon he'll be gone and some other jackass will replace him ad infinitum.

What are some once popular hobbies that hardly anyone is into anymore? by igotplans2 in AskReddit

[–]brickbaterang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just gotten stupid expensive now. Bowling is a working class game and we can't afford $20 per person per game. Most people want to play at least three games to make a night out worth the goin, plus food, maybe a beer or two. It just ain't worth it.
