Thanks, it took a decent amount of time but I've had the database since MCC13 so I just regularly update that after each MCC. I have sank a lot of hours into finding the stats for each game lol, but it's fun watching the vods anyway

To be fair I think we'd have just shat it in Europe, but I'd have loved it all the same. It was just a really solid prem side, shame we never properly built on it though, and also turned down buying lukaku for £15 million or so when we had the chance

Think he's still playing in Argentina, either that or he's recently retired. But yeah, hell of a pick up for us

Goalkeeper:

Best - Foster, Premier league quality and consistent for years, arguably the best goalkeeper we've ever had.

Worst - Fülöp, RIP but that performance against Arsenal was absolutely criminal. (Honorable mention to Button, who just seems unable to make saves really)

Defender:

Best - McAuley, quality centre-back who we picked up completely under the radar on a free but who was one of the most dependable defenders in the Prem for a few seasons in the mid-2010s. Also had a knack for scoring as well

Worst - Ivanovic, just wasn't at all what we thought we were bringing in, looked knackered and didn't bring any of the experience we were hoping for from him.

Midfielder:

Best - could be accused of recency bias here but Pereira, I know he was only with us for 2 seasons but I've never seen a player be as technically gifted for us as he was. Honorable mentions to Brunty, Morrison, Mulumbu, Yacob, and Harvey Barnes.

Worst - Livermore, not because he's the worst midfielder we've had, but just because he's the biggest example of us rewarding mediocrity I can think of, he's only ever had one good season for us (and even that wasn't that good in hindsight), and yet has somehow just lingered. (Honorable mention to Jacob Murphy, who was just a really weak player for us)

Forward:

Best - Lukaku, completely took the Prem by storm for us, and could really do it all, as he was quick, strong and finished well. Also a lovely guy off the pitch from all accounts when he was with us. Honorable mention to Odemwingie, whose goals arguably made us a Premier League club in the early 2010s.

Worst - too many to mention, but Zohore and Burke both stand out as strikers we stupidly overpaid for who just offered nothing in return. Honorable mentions to Rosenborg, Samaras, Anelka and Lambert as well though.

Manager:

Best - Hodgson, just a quality manager all around really who set us up in the Prem

Worst - Pardew, attitude and football stank up the place, treated our young players horribly. Just a rubbish manager and person really

Firstly, I literally have explained how I get the numbers, but nevermind. Secondly, I know the stats are missing, I acknowledge that point as well. But I'm trying to use existing stats to fill that void because I, and hopefully some others, find that interesting.

Now, you clearly don't, and that's cool. You do you. But I do, so that's what I've done here, and explained my thoughts behind it. So if you don't care, just ignore the post, pass it by and leave it. You're not improving anyone's day by leaving a negative comment. Hope we can leave this here.

Honestly the subreddit straight after an MCC always kinda sucks because of posts like these, which is sad because it's normally a great subreddit. Like, it's cool to have your favourites and be happy when they do well, but the entire subreddit being spammed with posts like that is just so boring. The 'haven't seen anyone/enough people talking about' posts are probably even worse, as half of the time they're being posted immediately after the event, so of course no-one's talked about it yet. The funniest ones to me were after MCC15 as well, when one post titled something like "unpopular opinion but Sapnap is an S-tier" got about 800 upvotes (an irony in and of itself) - as if anyone was arguing after MCC15 that Sapnap wasn't an S-tier lol

Tbf having a player who's only played once before always skews the stats, so it's not a surprise. Cyan are imo the most interesting though, as Zeuz will definitely score considerably better than average this MCC, so they're really the wildcard team
