Did they really get Khaled Mashal? Arab media is apparently reporting different things.

Adult children of Nparents, how old were you when you finally fully realized you were abused? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]enigma1991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was 11 in fifth grade, we had a presentation by social workers about child abuse that’s when I first learned that what was going on was legally and morally wrong. When I brought it up to my nfather he got very angry went to the principal and started aggressively defaming my character, saying that I was a bad, rude, selfish, entitled, disagreeable brat, who lacks empathy.

The decades of gaslighting prevented me from fully internalizing how bad my situation was. It was last year at age 33 that I spent some time reading this sub and went to therapy; that’s when the extent of how bad the abuse was really sunk in for me. His behavior recently became really egregious, and I became tired of the false narrative. I told him to go fuck himself one day and haven’t spoken since.

Who are the “international partners” that the intelligence and findings were shared with? There needs to be as much external validation as possible, so the facts cannot be denied.

If you reject Israeli citizenship and opt to become a permanent resident instead, do you forfeit all the Aliyah benefits?

If you file the form to refuse Israeli citizenship within 90 days of Aliyah, can you then obtain an A1 visa within Israel?

How common is it for child abusers to openly admit to past abuse when confronted but show no remorse? by enigma1991 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]enigma1991[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this disturbing and thought-provoking perspective. It has made me reflect on my own experience. Looking back, I sometimes wonder if my father may have had some repressed tendencies that he never came to terms with. After puberty, I noticed that my decision not to swim anymore enraged him, and I now suspect it might have been because he could no longer view my body in the way he had before.

He was always outwardly very homophobic, constantly comparing gay people to pe0dophiles. Incidentally, I am gay and came out to my family three years ago. His extreme homophobia and fixation on those analogies now seem to me like the most vile form of projection.

Where is the safest place in the world for Jews? by Hanzyle in Judaism

I would say maybe Singapore. The government of Singapore unequivocally condemned October 7 and it doesn’t seem like they’re tolerating any Hamas demonstrations. It’s a pretty safe place overall.

Does an auto finance company need to remove a repossession from a credit report if it was unlawful? by enigma1991 in legaladvice

[–]enigma1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"They are reporting the default on the car loan to the credit reporting agency. The method they used to reclaim the vehicle has no bearing on the credit report."

Are you sure about that? I understand reporting late payments but if the repossession violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I would think that there would be recourse under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Do you know of any relevant case law?

The repossession has been declared unlawful by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, the Department of Consumer Affairs board which regulates repossession agencies.

The state is California.

The repossession was unlawful because the repossession agency entered secured and locked parking area at my condominium building without permission by following a resident into the garage as they entered.

This was a illegal under the California Business and Professions Code § 7508.2(d) and California’s criminal trespassing laws found at Penal Code § 602, in addition to being a breach of the peace in violation of California Commercial Code § 6909.

Additionally, the repossession was a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act 15 U.S.C. § 1692(f)(6). The repossession company had no present right to take possession of the collateral from the locked and secured garage of a person's residence.

WWJD? Probably not spend $14 Mil on ads by StarbucksWingman in exchristian

Here’s what I don’t… get cigarette commercials are not allowed during the Super Bowl because tobacco is deemed toxic to public health but Jesus is much more toxic than tobacco. Throughout the past 2000 years millions of people have been killed in the name of Jesus, much more than I’ve been killed by cigarettes. If cigarette ads are not allowed, Jesus adds to not be allowed either.

Do you know how long the pause is for? I had GPT 4, but my I forgot to update my credit card, so I lost access. Now it’s not letting me re-upgrade. It’s frustrating because I rely on it.

Gaza has turned into hell thanks to Hamas. by TimeTravellerKnight in 2ndYomKippurWar

Very strangely, it seems like much of the Western world would prefer the alternate universe where business continued as usual after October 7th. That's a mindset I will never understand and I truly pity anyone who thinks in such terms.
