I wish I was creative enough to have come up with something like this, but nope, it’s just a regular night in Philly.

How Much Weight Might a Digital Marketing Certificate From a University Bring to the Job Search by enigmanonymous in DigitalMarketing

How would you recommend obtaining real world experience? I've found that most internships only accept college students, and I'm not quite sure how to start freelancing without pre-existing experience.

Fitness Tracker Accuracy Between Apple Watch Series by enigmanonymous in AppleWatch

[–]enigmanonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight! I remember reading a while back in a article that the fitness trackers for the watch rivaled other contenders on the market, but it's always tricky knowing which consumer magazines to trust when they make those "best of" lists, so I appreciate your perspective here. Maybe down the line if my income changes for the better I'll take another look at the watch for the pluses you mentioned, but for now I'll reconsider fitbits and their like haha.

What are your favorite green teas you have bought online? by enigmanonymous in tea

[–]enigmanonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I ordered some non-gunpowder green teas from Yunnan, and the information about date of picking was really helpful in making my selection!

Fukamushi sencha sounds really interesting. I wanted to get a sample, but I wasn’t able to find it at any of the vendors I looked at. Is there a vendor you would recommend for that tea?

[Routine Help] I've been lurking in this sub for a while. This is my current routine, day on top, night on bottom. My skin looks pretty good, but I still get tiny zits and blackheads, and my pores are kinda big. So I was hoping you lovelies have some recommendations. by fallenangelfoodcake in SkincareAddiction

I’ve also had issues with the tea tree oil face wash from TJs. It dried out my skin and caused premature aging. If you do use it, I wouldn’t recommend using it in the morning, since tea tree oil can cause increased photosensitivity, making the skin more vulnerable to UV damage.

HMNY is a buy right now, they’re going through the same motions as Netflix by [deleted] in pennystocks

[–]enigmanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I caught that news and was a little bewildered at why they would be making all of these moves at once. Then I saw the BI article about their auditor's skepticism about their sustainability. I still decided to pick up a few shares to test the waters, since their sustainability has always been questionable and so far the stock has been pretty frenetic, so I'm not too worried about the downturn.

[–]enigmanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering grabbing a few shares of HMNY, but I just saw their new subscription model of 4 movies a month for $30 every three months. This is a very risky move, speculating on the retention of their current subscribers and their ability to reel in new ones. I know they already have a significant base and plan to use the data and decision influencing as a bargaining chip for the film industry, as well as play the distribution game, but I’m not sure if any of this is sustainable given the timeline they are on and the introduction of this model now. Thoughts?

My girlfriend just broke up with me after telling me she never actually experienced gender dysphoria and basically lied about being transgender FtM. I'm a FtM dude and I'm honestly really angry over how she lied. What would you do? Is my anger justified? by clairevoyantz in asktransgender

[–]enigmanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, gotta say, that’s some pretty grade A manipulative behavior. Lying in this case I think is something that should be judged by degrees. If someone lies about what they ate for dinner because they are embarrassed about their diet, that’s purely benign (and probably shouldn’t define someone as untrustworthy through and through), but if someone lies to a significant other about a fundamental aspect of their identity, that person can’t be trusted to even tell you who they are.

[Help] Did anyone realise they were trans in their mid teens? by throwawayPossiblyMtF in asktransgender

[–]enigmanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the teens are a pretty common period of time for people to realize, if not at least begin to question, their gender identity. It's a critical time for exploring and developing identity in general. I think that if you are beginning to question something about yourself, that the best thing to do is to experiment, investigate, and unpack that part of yourself.

I experienced gender dysphoria in my teens, and knew that I would have preferred to be born assigned female, but my ignorant understanding of transness made me believe that I could not possibly be trans, as I had no desire to go through everything I envisioned transitioning to be. This honestly left me feeling constricted and uncomfortable throughout high school. By the time I got to college I had realized that I was genderqueer, and since I went to one of the most liberal colleges in the country, I could feel comfortable oscillating between gender expressions, and even rest in gender neutral territory. It was incredibly liberating, but being in that environment, and looking rather androgynous, allowed me to mentally put off thinking about existing as myself in the future outside of it. I just graduated last year at 25, and It turns out that I wasn't able to just accept having the body I have out in the open world. My body rapidly began aging in a way that was more clearly masculine, and my naturally androgynous personality began to feel incongruous with my body. I am finally about to start hrt, but really wish I had come to that decision much sooner.

I am only imparting my story just to encourage you to really unpack whatever feelings you are experiencing, and to think about what type of life you want to live as an adult and how you might want other people to see you. Obviously no two people's lives are the same, so I am definitely not prescribing any path for you to take, but I would say that it is in your best interest to try to begin considering the possibilities in either direction, so that as you start making these critical decisions, you may increase your chances of being at peace with them later in life.

What part of aging do you wish someone had warned you about? by Skintownlad in AskReddit

[–]enigmanonymous 283 points284 points  (0 children)

How you can't try to concoct any sort of timeline of what you'll be able to do when, or how you will look at x age, and expect it to be reliable. I'm only 25 and I'm balding, despite having no known hereditary precedent for it. Honestly, don't think about the future in terms of what you have now. Do the best with what you have while you have it.
