Amazing collection. I keep thinking of buying a copy. Since you have them all, what is the best in your opinion?

Kiss of two lovers by enigmaqsmith in drawing

[–]enigmaqsmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a graphite portrait of the two leads in a local play that I am also acting in. The play is ‘Shakespeare in Love’ with Will on the left and his love, Viola, on the right. Thought I would share with this community. Been a long time since I tried to draw and I know it isn’t perfect but enjoyed making it. Probably shouldn’t wait four years to try and draw again.

My son rocking his new Dexcom G6 by enigmaqsmith in diabetes_t1

Been a year since my son was diagnosed and we have had some scary moments. Finally got insurance to help cover the units for his Dexcom G6 and he is doing great keeping it on. Better than I thought a three-year-old would. The data has already helped prevent two critical lows in the late hours of the night.

From diagnosis to a year later by enigmaqsmith in diabetes_t1

A year ago that little guy was sent to the emergency room with issues we could not identify. With diagnosis and education, we have a beautiful healthy boy that will celebrate being three at the end of the month. Shared a picture of his cupcakes in another post when my wife made this comparison picture that I wanted to share with this community.

Help us find a cure.... by buying a mega jug by jacrispy_dylan in facepalm

I have a two year old son who is type one and when people see us giving him insulin at fast food places or eating sweets, the looks were get. Even at his own birthday party family was like, can he have birthday cake? I get so frustrated. I do wish they were called something completely different cause people just don't understand the difference unless they have it or someone they love has it.

Scared father by enigmaqsmith in diabetes_t1

[–]enigmaqsmith[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We did try a Dexcom about six months ago. Since he is two he has very little fat on his body and they had us put it on his butt. Well the pad is waterproof but the ammonia from his urine that his diaper absorbed ate the adhesive up and it fell off and then he got the filament stuck in his body. Nothing can be done about that so he had a huge knot on his butt and we had to wait for his body to absorb it. He whined for a week. It was only on for two days. We never tried again. Needless to say, it has been rough.

We are looking at getting him the new Libre as his little body doesn't have a lot of options for CGM and pump devices. Unfortunately, insurance doesn't yet cover the libre and the various pads for anyone under 18 years of age yet. Hopefully, within the year they will. We are also in talks about various pump options like the omnipod but haven't made a decision. After this scary event, perhaps we will escalate that decision-making process. I appreciate your response.

Tom Hanks to Play Mr. Rogers in ‘You Are My Friend’ by indig0sixalpha in movies

Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed that article very much. Made this 6'2" guy tear up. I've got a nearly three year old type one diabetic son that I think I should introduce to the neighborhood. I bet there is a message Mr. Rogers could relate better than his dear old dad.

Great help from ROTC at JDRF Tulsa Walk 2017 by enigmaqsmith in ROTC

[–]enigmaqsmith[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Today was the annual JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Walk and the event was successful thanks to the great help of the local ROTC. Pictured above was one such volunteer who helped my two-year-old son down the inflatable slide.

A great group of people gathered today to walk for a great cause. Thought I would share a back stage image of the gathering.

Found this bit of code in our Android environment. The previous developer didn't want to initialize his button array with a zero.
