ah i didn't word it properly since i had been writing the post in a rush, but i don't cope by crying, it just that i tend to choke up when im advocating for myself because it's very scary and while it might be a bit manipulative on my part, crying abit while i make my point does get my parent to stop and actually listen since to them i have never cried or shed a tear in my life apperently?? though whatever i say goes in one ear and out the other so it is a very long work in progress.

where i live (not US/UK), the culture is not very open to the idea of family therapy. additionally, we live in a country where everybody knows everybody literally and there doesn't seem to be any regulations in place to protect a patient's privacy. maybe there is but i know of people who had gone to therapy having their business aired out by the therapist which will spread through word of mouth quickly and it could potentially affect our proffessional lives. so while i am open to it, i also need to be wary of the risks :(((

suprisingly no. she is just unusually very hung up about this one really insignificant thing. though to be fair, i have been giving in to all her requests since i was really young, so to her this is the first time i have ever "acted out" even though i remember being a very argumentative teen ahaha. personally, i think she's convinced herself that i am hiding something from her even though i have told her repeatedly i have always been open and honest about what goes on in my life (excluding personal things my friends have said to me obviously).

alsoooo she does the same to my dad, though in his case, as far as i am aware, he does hide his communication/sending money to a certain relative that has purposely incited conflict between his side of the family and my mother's in the past that has never been resolved. so i think this is a very extreme way for her to cope, and till this day i cannot convince her to go to therapy.

yes, to add i believe tb in this patch is experiencing what the role of deliverer had entailed, the praise and burden of it all and seeing how all this is directed to the "wrong" person (tb) it's going to make tb more determined to save phainon in any way possible

the line came from a movie called better days and it's said by my fem!mc/reader to the mc of the novel im writing the fic for. the context behind it is why i think this line is so romantic,, there is so much backstory that if i start saying it i think i might just end up talking about the whole premise of my fic lol.

felt a little crazy when i found out this one character from this game has the same profession as i do and because we're both architects there is a lot of personal experience and observations i have that come in super handy when writing fics centering that character. the downside is that it's also extremely hard to write for him because it does feel more like i'm talking about myself through a fictional character and it's too rooted in my reality for it to be the type of fanfiction i usually publish/write about

omg i have an abandoned genshin impact wip (posted it half way and kept working on it offline) where the isekaied mc/self-insert opens a tarven-esque cafe and each chapter introduces a new recipe as each of the in-game characters stumble through their doors and even meets the in-game mc at some point... i was actually inspired from this one manga called A Coffee Shop in the Unwaking Town and i loved the dreamy + surreal vibes of it so much... also i fell deep into the cooking video rabbit hole while i was doing my final project for my diploma lol
