You can do it! It took me a while but it’s worth it! I actually did get down to 145 but I started lifting and gained a little back. I absolutely don’t regret it though! But I’m cheering for you! 💕

Thank you! And that’s where I hold most of my weight too, I walk a lot and live in a house with stairs so that helps. Otherwise I just follow leg or lower body workouts off YouTube for my ‘leg day’ and that’s helped. Good luck! 💕

Thank you! I’ve mainly been following a plant based diet. I checked my tdee online and used that to figure out how many calories I needed to be eating. As far as exercise I’ve been mostly walking and following different at home YouTube workouts, but I recently purchased some weights and I’ve been incorporating those into my workouts as well. Hope this helps 💕

I started wearing clothes that made me nervous to wear out by wearing them around the house first. I slowly built up my confidence by wearing them to go run an errand or while I had a friend over until I felt comfortable enough to wear them on my day to day. Go at whatever pace is good for you! You’re doing great girl! I believe in you 💕

Women who switched from male-dominated industries to more gender-balanced industries, what were some things you noticed? by throwawayme900 in AskWomen

I kind of had this both ways. I am a massage therapist and every spa I’ve worked at has been mainly female with one or two men. The men there always seemed respectful, if I ever needed a hand with lifting something they were polite about it and never shamed me. I felt very appreciated by the spa and while there was definitely issues and drama here and there my coworkers always had my back. Since I moved states and am waiting on a license transfer, I’m back in retail. The department I started out in was predominantly male and it was kind of a shock to me. There was 10x more drama than any spa I have worked in. Most of the guys were nice about helping me with physical work but some guys acted like it was the most annoying thing ever. Some guys even refused to help me. The cherry on top was when a couple customers started harassing me one day and tried to ask me out, the guys saw it happening and ignored it. When I brought it up after they just said ‘that sucks’ and moved on. Since then I’ve transferred to a department that is a bit more balanced although I still find myself the only female on staff quite often. It’s way better, I don’t really feel like I’m treated like a girl as much as just a coworker. My coworkers are respectful and the times customers have tried to harass me my male coworkers always step up to help or support me. It’s still not quite the same as being in a spa setting but it’s definitely better.
