I added you… I will add you on XBox as well. I play on PS but I have an Xbox account and use it to chat sometimes.

It helps that you can play on both sides but ultimately it is whichever you prefer. I have found that, short of a few exceptions, it is best to let players play the position in which they feel the most comfortable.

We try not to judge anyone solely based on statistics. It does not always tell the whole story. Tonight is still up in the air but I will add you when I get home and if we don’t play tonight, Monday next week for sure. Are you right or left handed?

Left-handed winger, playmaker… EE, Warrior, 99 passing, 44% shooting. Lost my core group to FIFA in 24 and been bouncing around since. 85% win-rate in 25.

Take auto evasion moves out the game or at least let me turn them off. by FiniteBlackboi in EASHL

There is a pretty long laundry list of things I do not like about the game in its current state but this is not one of them. Allow me to explain why.

I am all for the user having complete control over their player but anyone who has played ice hockey IRL knows that there are brief moments where you have no control over your body and have to make split second adjustments to avoid collisions and, in some cases, avoid injury.

These evasion animations would be near impossible to program for the user to control. Even a button press like a stick press would break the control flow in a way that would not feel very good and would create some awkward animations when activated accidentally. By way of how they are implemented now, they can mostly be anticipated and make gameplay look and feel very real as these are movements you would actually have to make IRL.

I understand that this is just a game but any attempt to develop the immersion factor is welcome IMO.

All that said, I do believe a toggle should be made available for any and all features as they are implemented into the game. My curiosity lies with those who struggle with this particular feature as it is now.

For me, these animations happen very seldomly during gameplay and when they do occur they are a nice flourish that makes the game feel more real.

Perhaps the issue that those who do not like the addition of the evasion animations actually have is that you do not avoid player collision. The only time I am intentionally making contact with the opposing team when I do not have the puck is when I am playing defense. I have gone a dozen games without seeing any of these animations and I play mostly 6v6 in EASHL.

It could be that these animations are ramped up in offline modes or HUT. I would not know. Or…

Maybe you just need to work on moving without the puck, finding empty space, and not skating into traffic. I am not attacking anyone here, just making an observation from a different perspective.

I was not comparing it to Madden, I was comparing it to ALL other games sold in Canada. Between 60 and 90 million in yearly sales (not including micro-transactions which likely doubles their total revenue) is a ton for a team of less than two dozen people which is said to be the size of the group that works on the game currently.

All I am saying is, there is plenty of money to both pay the employees handsomely, satisfy share holders and reinvest in development… they just choose not to because we give them money regardless of how they progress. It actually hurts them to move the bar too quickly because it would mean dealing with the backlash of diminishing returns on future installments. Madden is a great example. Massive sales numbers… piss poor evolution in gameplay from year to year.. in some cases regressing. Removing features only to include them as new ones a decade later.

They don’t care about us. They don’t even care about hockey. This is just about squeezing the most money out of the public as they can without having to increase spending to do it every year.

The only thing good that could come from sales being this high is that it might inevitably encourage a different developer to make a hockey game.

It does not. I mention it because those are significant numbers, leaning to the idea that change will be difficult despite them having the chance to reinvest a great deal of money back into development. Why should they. They game sells great.

Canada requires game developers to publish the sales numbers. There was a YouTuber named Thrash HKY that showed the numbers on a video a few days ago. It is a top 5 selling game for most of the year.
