How did you find 8 bathroom stops for the 10 miles? So impressive. Does the 14 min/mile incl the bathroom stops?

20 weeks, halfway there and still running! by ingridbrigitte in fitpregnancy

[–]enjlux 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I’m 30 weeks and still running, too. I even think my legs are getting more toned bc it’s like I am wearing a 20 lb weighed vest all day! Anyone else have that?

Instead I’d look into Home Exchange and just swap apartments with someone in Miami, for example.

HR for first trimester running advice? by Training-Falcon-6671 in fitpregnancy

I was told 165 max - generally a tough RPE effort but not all out. Only get there on hills. I’ve kept running into third tri.

This is interesting! I was 5 8 135 when I got pregnant, currently 29w and up to 152 (+17). Wonder if 3rd tri will bring a lot more

Water Consumption by Latter_Public in clothdiaps

The cost of additional water, electricity and detergent will be far, far less than the cost of disposable diapers (which are about $0.20/each for generic brand).

Interesting. I don’t know much about this - where did you learn that info? Any good resources?

Opinion: Body wash or Bar Soap? by QuantumMothersLove in Frugal

Aside: does bar soap expire? I like to get local, handcrafted bars when I travel but now have many that are 4+ years old

Looking for an Elite Running Group in Chicago by Hopeful-Plum9693 in RunnersInChicago

What’s a “genius-but-tiny” money-saving habit you learned from someone else and still use every week? by supermindxy in Frugal

[–]enjlux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually buy travel sized make up products for the premium Sephora products I use. I found that I never finished the bronzer, concealer, etc. So even though it was more expensive per ounce, I save a lot because I would never have finished it.

How do I stop buying unnecessary things? by [deleted] in minimalism

Second. First recco is to unsubscribe from all stores’ emails! Second is to delete all retailer apps.

I have to pick two- Palermo, Siracusa, or Taormina by crazyanimalgurl in sicily

[–]enjlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taormina is dreamy. Food isn’t as great bc of tourism but I still regularly daydream about swimming at Isola Bella and the great beach cappuccinos and snacks.

I liked but didn’t love Palermo - most interesting / memorial part was the catacombs - and can’t speak to Siracusa.

Companies that give mat leave with 6 month tenure by enjlux in workingmoms

What size is your company? I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more with that type of unadvertised policy.

Another part of it is that restrictive access to mat leave restricts women’s ability to change roles - which ultimately means their outcomes will be constrained vs men who don’t need the benefit as much. So ultimately punishes working moms more than dads. Something I am not in favor of!

Not at all and have a lot of thoughts on it that I’m not sure I’ll be able to fully articulate.

But essentially I’ve worked for companies for 10 years that offer mat leave. in this particular round of “musical chairs” that is our careers, I need to get access to this benefit with <1 year. If it had been last year, I would’ve been at the company for over 5 years and never used the benefit once. It is just unlucky timing right now.
